That manages to have absolutely no redeeming features at all,to my eyes.

Re: BMW release newly updated RnineT
Its an Homage to the original but everyone lovers gold wheels. Looks like it has a bigger tank than the last version. There's also a Balck and yellow version (see below)
Here are all the other variants of the RnineT...

Gotta be honst, the RnineT is one of the few new bikes I really really like.
I drink craft beer, have a beard and was born in 1984 though. I am core millennial.

I prefer it to the GS Adv behemoths! At least it looks like you could actually ride it on a loose surface! If it was all black it'd probably be a nice looking bike. I wish manufacturers would get away from these sensory board colour schemes.

I used to park next to a silver one when I worked in the city. Lovely looking bike and a nice size. The other colours are for hipster wannabe people. I'd have a matt black one.

This all boils down to "I liked this before it was cool, you probably haven't heard of it". Which, ironically, is probably the most hipster trait of allHarry wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 5:10 am I love that style of bike, I grew up in the 80's seeing the Dr Big and things like the Cagiva Elefant.
It evokes really good memories of oogling these things in bike shops - when bike shops were magical places to hang out.
The problem for me is that I'd feel a twat riding one (Made in Chelsea) and it's not fair.
I had tattoos before tattoos were cool, I've had a beard (on and off) for 25yrs, I've always been interested in classic bikes, I have always liked offroad style bikes and I've always been into Landrover Defenders - I have all these things, but if I'm seen out on/in any of them I just look like a twattish hipster (although I shaved my beard off recently).
Edited...I've also been twattish for many years
Just buy one and accept your fate

I'm 60, I don't give a flying fuck what people might or might not approve of when it comes to "cool"
I'd have an RnineT, supposed to be a really capable bike..

Ah so weren't cool enough to like them before everyone else did first time round, now you're too cool to like them now that everyone else does.Harry wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:47 amExactly the opposite, I liked them back when they were cool.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 8:50 am

Now they're just hipster.
Your cool timing sucks dude.
Anyway enough of that nonsense, I really like this one too.

Re: BMW release newly updated RnineT
I think I must be exactly the sort of person BMW is targeting with these bikes.
Still not gona actually buy one.

Re: BMW release newly updated RnineT
I really like that but then I've got the remains of an R80GS wrapped up in a tarp on the 'waiting to be resurrected one day' list.
I got mine back in '86 when they were just a very capable road bike which was also quite a good trail bike. I was living in Frankfurt and the 80GS was great for an 80mph cruise down to the Alps for a weekends trail riding on Swiss military roads as well as being depsatched.
If I was planning a mega trip to remote parts I'd pick one of them over an R1200GS behemoth every time.

Why did no-one ever tell me that Bimmers were cool?

I've had several, surely you must have realised they were based on that?
