So I've posted odds and sods about my beloved bike, but not done the 'full monty', so here goes.
Bought with 368 miles on the clock and most of the yamaha accessories catalogue thrown at it.
Full akra, gilles rearsets, peg delete, adj levers, rad guards, rizoma mirrors.

So after a getting to know you session, fuelling and suspension were identified as issues.
Fuelling was easily sorted by Wiz up in Leeds, transformed the bike imo.
The xsr has a pre wired accessories socket, but no male plug supplied, so a bit of ebay and..

Decided that I didn't like the alloy bits, so started a 'blacking process

A winter spent in the UK and a bit of spare dosh and some fortuitous ebaying saw me the proud owner of a full fat ohlins shock and some andreani fork inserts.
I'd been messing about with springs front and rear, but these really made a real difference.

Also scored a MT09SP left hand chain adjuster, which I like, but others have mixed feelings.....
A new led headlight/ indicator unit was fitted as the oe unit was woeful

The British weather decided a tree on top of my bike would look good!

So beginning to run out of things to do on the old girl.
Went for a micro led tail light, as 99% of my riding is in the dry, don't have to worry about spray.

Went a bit Bellwood with the rimtape (I've also bought some yellow/black speigler brake hoses, yet to be fitted) There's also a faux carbon hugger which does a good job of keeping the ohlins clean.

Bought a 5l givi bag and fitted a cup holder too!

Only issue in the 6 years I've had her is the speedo went fubar. Apparently is a 'thing' the early bikes did. At £600+ to replace it, not a happy chappy.
Bought an Italian unit for a reasonable amount, however euro clocks don't swop over to mph!
So, did a bit of digging and found a broken connector. After a bit of research, eventually found 1 (10 actually) et voila

Got a 'comfort' ultrasuede seat coming over in Sept, brake hoses to be fitted next week.
I really think I've run out of things to do now!
Brakes have 19mm rcs
Oe mirrors refitted as the barenders were horrible.
RG tape on swing arm to stop heel rub
Custom made 17t front sprocket.

So thought I'd fit the brake lines this week.
As I have quickly discovered with all modern kit, you basically have to dismantle the bike to get to anything.
Yamaha have the brake lines down as replace every 4 years.........nice little earner there boys!
So far only managed to fit the rear hoses, and many a rude word was uttered when making the rear hose bracket!

In between airport runs, finally got around to putting the front lines on the bike.
Well what a palaver it was.
Old lines were rubber to block to steel lines to block to rubber x 2.
Took the steel lines off the blocks.......eventually!
Could I get the steel lines out, could I bollocks. Looks like the throttle bodies have to come out as well! Am I keeping the steel lines, nah! Out come the side cutters, job done.
Feeding the new hoses through was simple enough, if you have the hands of a small child!
Got everything routed up and nipped to torque.
Started back bleeding with the syringe, 2nd syringe, 3rd syringe...4th......5th, nothing coming up to the reservoir, then I notice the puddle forming under the bike........fuck fuck fuck! Sprayed a load of wd onto the abs box and followed the drips down to hopefully wash away all the dot4.
New (supplied) washers fitted, and wrapped in a towel, still fucking leaking!
Dug out my dusty but trusty crush washer box, a couple of copper washers sorted the one pipe out, thought I'd better do the other just in case!
2 more syringe fulls did the job.
Whip out spark plugs and gap them, as you're there, chuck her back together, quick test up the road, job jobbed.
Only 2 bolts and a bracket left over!

And now we have an ultrasuede seat!
Suppose I'd better fabsil it before the weather thinks about turning!

As the xsr is the modern day LC, I'll take your comments as a compliment.
To be honest, the wheel tape and hugger were an experiment, however ALL the aftermarket huggers I've seen are rank, and its job is to protect the ohlins, which it does.

Already fabsil'd, however here on the 45th parallel, more concerned by the internal foam melting atm!

It was obviously just an early morning attempt at humour.
If we’re being serious then it’s not bad, I’d just lose the rim tape and gaudy hoses, it looked ok before those.

Wheel tape will be going, but the hoses stay!
