The 750 X-ADV isnt an auto like the 350 is. Its a DCT, which means you get direct drive. It is quite quick and very responsive in S3 mode but its a big old girl and not the best for filtering.

Sounds good to me.
I think it maybe enough after the MT, the 350 was not far off of what I want, the 750 must be quite a bit quicker.
been spending way to much time looking at 2nd hands and reading reviews.

Yes if you are Weeksy and some others on here. I'm crap at it though. I normally get around this by buying bikes as the model is being replaced got a large discount buying my 690 and GSXS as new models were coming out.

Is the 750 more of a 'must have' or a 'want'? Looking at your commute, you have 6 miles on the A3, is 70/80mph not enough? The other 10 miles is city, where I would think the 350 would be far more nimble and easier to ride than the 750?
I have a 12 mile commute and there honestly isn't any point that I think I needed anything more than my 300.
As for discounts, not a lot of chance, I think they're pretty much selling everything they can get in scooter wise these days. I did manage to get £300 off my brand new Xmax, but the dealer cocked it up, told me that's how much it would be, then there was such a delay in the scooters release, I think he would have felt awkward asking me for full price. I very nearly cancelled my order and went with a Honda. And the Yamaha dealer knew it.

I bought what I needed for a car when the kids were little. The car was for me to drive alone to work and back, Mrs had the family car, and I ended up driving a Hyundai i10 for 6 years.

70/80 is enough, but I would want to go France or the likes on it, also as soon as I pulled away I knew it was not for me. still liked it though.
best ever bike ive had for commuting was the GSXR 750.
If you're commuting every day on a bike, it needs to one you enjoy riding. Otherwise it becomes a chore rapidly and you'll hate every minute. That's how to kill your love of riding bikes.
