What tyres has it got on it?

If they're the original CEAT ones, you'll enjoy the bike more with some Avon Raodriders, unless you want a trials style tyre.

Also, don't use the pressure's in the handbook. The Indians haven't updated them since 1953, it'll say 18/19 psi, on UK roads you need late 20's, early 30's.

Original tyres on. Book pressures say F 20 R 30.

They must have updated the book for the euro5 ones. Imho 20 is way too low for the front.

I run 30/32 on the Avons, I assume similar for other brands too.

Went out last night at 6.30 on the RE, with a mate to see some other mates at a local classic meet. Lot of car's and bikes, then on to local pub for another bike meet. Lot's of upside down heads on harleys.

What I really enjoyed the most was riding home down the lanes in the dark, lovely cool breeze through the jacket. It much reminded me of riding at 16/17 on my first bikes on same little lanes.

Nice enjoyable evening that I don't do enough. 👍

Finding the gearing very low, so thinking of going + 1 on front. It's a 17t on the trials and 18t on bullet I think. @KungFooBob , have you done owt with yours. ??

Nope, I think by B5 is geared higher than the C5 (Classic).

1 tooth higher, I guess the trials is geared like the C5.

Note that to change the front sprocket you need to remove the right hand side engine cover, so make sure you've got a new gasket as well as a sprocket if you make the change.

Also..

Even on mine with the longer gearing, 1st gear is pretty much useless unless you're pulling away from a standstill will a pillion.

You don't need a tacho!

I convinced myself I needed one too, get a bit more time on it and you'll soon work out how far to take it in each gear, etc..

Although iirc Hitchcocks do a nice Smiths replica bolt on tacho
