FFS

But, at least the guy there gave me more info on how to maybe get help from Ducati Italy for a change. I've been met will a total lack of help or communication from them and the French dealers here each time I've tried previously. Here's hoping that this time things might go better
I had work done on my KTM here at the dealership. Not because I wanted the dealership to work on the bike, but because I wanted to build a relationship with them after UK dealer were no help with CoC. My CoC arrived at my local dealer last week.!! (€150 !!!!!!)
Downside is that (when I last looked) locally the nearest dealer is the other side of Annecy. They were particularly unhelpful when I contacted them by phone and email :(

I'm planning to ask some friend in Grenoble if they know a more friendly one over there. At least I could stay the night for each visit!

The Ducati process seems particularly drawn out - visit dealer with bike for it to be checked; wait for response from Ducati Italy; back to dealer with bike; hope that all goes well so that Italy will send a CoC!!

But, gonna have to do that - unless I can actually speak to someone at DREAL (VOSA) and circumvent the need for a CoC with a check at DREAL instead (not sure that's even possible!)

Believe me, had anyone been remotely positive/helpful, I'd have the CoC by now!! But I have tried three dealers and gave up!

Have had a reply from Italy and they just say go to the dealer

So, will try and find one near Grenoble, not least so my mate can come with me to be a male 'in charge' for the poor little woman (since the French are remarkably more helpful to men than women in a lot of situations!!!)

Do the French have a word for 'chauvinistic'? :D ;)

Yes, I think its "french"

But, I'm less pissy about it now than 30 years ago when faced with the same attitudes in the uk. If I need to take a male friend with me to get stuff done, that's what I'll do! LOL

Crap food.

There's a decent Canarian snack bar I frequent once a month for a treat.
But always look at the elephant's leg, drooling.
Today I'd had a few I'm town with a pal and couldn't resist.
It looked great, but was so bland. I asked for some hot sauce. Still crap.

I can't imagine there being more than 1 supplier on the island, so they're all getting crap.

Being asked that dreaded question that comes around every year....

'What do you want for your birthday?'

I have no needs nor wants that i can think of. I must truly lack imagination. :(

It's my mother's birthday today. She's getting knives.

Everyone I know gets knives, if they want them or not.

I work for the sole UK importer of a popular premium knife brand :)

If you want some knives let me know.

I'm allowed to buy them at staff discounted prices, as long as I don't take the piss... I bought her some scissors in a little stand, rrp on them was £150... For one pair of scissors!

I didn't pay that money mind.

That ^.

Ours must be 20+ years-old. Can we mention brands or is that a PM kinda thang? Or more a 'piss off and mind your own' thang?

Not that I want them for my birthday, mind.

If it is Global I would be interested in a sharpener/steel. Last time I looked the retail price was ridiculous.

Mmmm....scissors. Got 2 or 3 pairs in the house from these people. https://www.ernestwright.co.uk/

They were close to closing shop not long ago but they survived and some money has been invested. I think they're training people too. The last pair the Mrs ordered (a pair of the 'stork' ones) were on back order and took a few months to arrive. They took the £ up front but don't really mind if it keeps stuff like this going.

Why?

And does it 'match' the Global knives? Mrs CJ places much emphasis on matching.

I stopped buying Global and any other fancy knives some time ago, now I just occasionally buy cheaper ones & spend much less of my life sharpening expensive knives
