Post by weeksy »

Warm at times this weekend. Wet in North Wales though.

Guess where I am.

Yup, north Wales.

Well Oswestry currently. Dyfi bike park for the boy tomorrow with Katy and another mate. Testing wheel sizes on Trek.
Sat I'm out with @crust riding. Not sure where yet
Sun likely FoD
Monday off and unknown plans yet

Back to my normal week so I've been off today, then off tomorrow and Saturday. Got a friend arriving either Saturday or Sunday to do some touring around here en route to Turin.

Downside is that, before I fell over yesterday, we'd agreed that I will try going pillion with him on Monday. But now I have a sneaky suspicion that I'm not gonna be able to bend my knee enough to do that, so am a bit peeved :(

Anyway - today, lots of cooking, physio in a bit, then chilling

Tomorrow - getting the bus down to the valley to have a coffee with a mate, as is normal practice for a Friday!! Then another mate is driving down to pick me up and take me to get veggies from an allotment, then to chat with my pasty making friend whilst Stu goes shopping! Back home to make a start on prepping the veg!

Saturday, probably more veggie prepping and making stuff for the freezer. Oh, the Monster battery is now charged, so I'll go see if I can start it!! LOL :D

Boiling down here today. I only mention it because normally it's always boiling down here and I've acclimatised come August, but although June was great, July was rubbish and so has been August so far.

Anyway, we have family staying so I will mainly be doing family loafing, eating and larking about. On Sunday there is the WC final but I have been designated to do the airport run, dibs have been called because I'm not a lady. Sexist!

Look, I’m not a young man, I manage to almost always get to the loo, I feed myself, I still find the right road to get to work, I can dress myself, I manage most things but I rarely know what day it is without looking at my phone.
So what do you do………….you start the Friday thread on a Thursday!!!!! Never been so confused!!!!

Anyhoo, finished work at 2pm and I’ve now got 9 days offffff!!
So Friday, off to Costco.
Saturday, to the gf’s to finish loading the caravan.
Sunday, drive to St David’s in Wales.
Monday etc, chill, relax, bar b q and wine for 5 days.
Have fun all

Last day of my 2 weeks holiday from work tomorrow, I've put about 1000 miles on the Suzuki in the last two weeks, so more of the same really, hoping to get out early on both Saturday and Sunday when the roads are quieter, been out this afternoon and it's definitely Harvest here, grain lorries everywhere.

Not sure I have any truck with this starting the Friday thread a day early, there must be a bylaw or something about this.

Anyway;

Friday, watching the horrible weather rattle through this morning (lots of orange and red in the Channel at the moment, heading our way). Dog walk, tax return and then more rain later.

Saturday, EMTB across the Downs, maybe a BBQ later

Sunday, chill out then EMTB to work for a night shift as the trains and roads will be packed with the DFL's going home after the Airshow.

Today, packing overnight bag in case it's needed.
Tomorrow, hospital appointment at 6.30 a.m. to get a lump and some associated girlie bits chopped out.
Sunday, hopefully already returned home so starting the recovery exercises while being waited on hand and foot by Mr BB.

Good luck with it all BB and here's to a speedy (waited on, so you're allowed to spin it out a bit  ) recovery.

Best wishes BB

Today, got the ‘can’t be arsed’ vibe around an hour ago, so booked 2 tickets to see MI7 (yeah, been out ages) in an hour, we are then possibly popping to see neighbours for drinks if not, chilled out at home.
Tomorrow, stuff around the house, then if not achieved today, drinks with neighbours or see above
Sunday, Mrs is taking dog out for a few hours with a mate, I’ll either just chill or crack on with jobs around the house.

:)

Today, work then decide which take away to go for tonight.
Saturday, weekly shop, get around to fixing the bloody number plate light on the bike properly for the last time. Make a decision on the foot pegs for the bike, either fit the mini floorboards I've got or try and scrounge up some other pegs which have taken my fancy but can't be found or bought for love nor money.
Sunday, decide where we want to go for a 3 - 4 hour ride about, start to feel the dread creep of being at work on Monday, hopefully tempered by it only being a 3 day week before the bank holiday week

Today - Work till 3 then off back to Bristol for an early night. Been working in Minehead all week and stayed in a Hotel last night for a treat. Managed to get to all the central pubs (6) so still have a bit of a sore head today and still need to drive the 72 miles back to Brissol. Also i think the M32 is still closed so i will need to go the A38 route.

Tonight - Nothing - film and early night.

Sat - Chilling around in the day and doing housework then off to meet some mates in town for a sneaky Turtle Bay and beers then heading to Strange Brew (Club) to see Daniel Avery from 10pm till 4am. I have some lurg around me though so who knows how long i will last!

Sun - Nothing. Day off. Might pop over the parents for a roast if i am not too hanging but likely a day of rest in front the TV.

Bugger all until Sunday (a few beers with mates), it's too hot and set to get hotter next week. Yeah, yeah, expats moaning about the weather, but we've not long come down from temps in the 40's and I'd hoped for a more reasonable 30 (ish) next week.

Need to pre-flight the ZRX11 today in case I actually ride it on Sunday. Weather is all fuckered up this week, Wednesday was 104deg & raining. We're getting the arse end of a Hurricane this weekend, but latest from the weather guesser is the rain won't get here until Sunday afternoon. That means we should manage to have the monthly Kaw meet at the RockStore that morning & be home without getting soaked.
ZX11 brake o/h parts will be here today, so may take care of that tomorrow. They were actually a mere 40 miles away yesterday, but the USPS has some fucked up delivery deal where they had to go to Bakersfield for a completely pointless overnight trip. It would be like ordering parts in the UK from Italy when you live in Cambridge, having them show up in Bury St Edmunds then sending them to Bristol & back on the way to Cambridge.

Friday: Walked the dog this afternoon. Got an email to confirm I've been shortlisted for interviews for a Benefice. Cooked dinner, chatted with the wife on WhatsApp as she is abroad.

Saturday: My boy's birthday, he is in Hungary and I am in London.... will have to video call him. Walk the dog. Meeting with a dear friend to talk about churches and communities down in Gravesend mid morning. Back to walk the dog in the afternoon. Cook dinner for my daughter and myself.

Sunday: Back at work after a nice 3 week break. Preaching at the 10.30am, short Holy Communion service at 12pm and then Baptising (Full immersion) at the 4pm Service. Not involved in 6.30pm evening prayer, but will be there. Home to sleep after cooking dinner for my daughter.

ZRX11 Pre-flight done & dusted: air, oil & blue juice. Will be pulling the clutch cover after this ride to take a look at plates (original at 122,540 miles). There's a slight judder when pulling away... but not every time, seems to depend on my enthusiasm.
But that will be after the ZX11 brakes are sorted.
