I took a run down to Barnard Castle, then over towards Reeth

Then up Swaledale and over Buttertubs to Hawes

Note how the barrier has been designed to slice bikers into manageable slices so it's easier for the emergency services to recover them.
I had planned to stop at Hawes for a cuppa but the place was heaving so I carried on down to Ingleton and stopped at Devil's Bridge for a cuppa and a sandwich. I carried on up to Sedbergh - there were two accidents along this stretch of road, both involving bikes and one with an ambulance in attendance
After Sedbergh I carried on to Middleton-in-Teesdale, down to Bishop Aucland and then home for tea. About 170 miles on all sorts of roads from fast open A roads to twisty hairpins and even a mile or two with grass growing in the middle of the road. Although it was busy in places, for a lot of the time there was no traffic, no houses (and no petrol stations)
