Suspension around Milton Keynes (ish)

Post by Mr. Dazzle »

Anyone got any recommendations?

Bike is a 98 CBR600 steelie. Its currently off the road with flat tyres (they're really old and the valve on the front failed some point last week while in my garage). Its got 29k on it and is pretty much totally stock expect for dynojetting and a bubble screen. It bounces around OK ish but it's >20 years old now and feels it. Brakes, engine etc. all feel strong however.

I'm thinking just a fresh set of tyres and a bit of suspension work is all it needs to be a great bike. Not looking for full Öhlins or anything, just a bit of a refresh/setup.

Darren at MCT did the suspension on my Firestorm and it was a huge improvement. It was a while ago but I don't think he's got any worse

They're in Stowmarket so it will give you a decent ride to feel the improvement on the way home :)

Bit closer to home is Phil Ayers at Weston on the Green.
PASS Engine and Suspension services, 07447 462898.
He rebuilt my sons crf250 motor and services his suspension at the end of every season.
A nice guy who knows his stuff, meticulous work done in a reassuringly clean workshop.
Mainly MX focused but probably worth a call.
Paul.

Might be worth talking to Dave Wood Racing, former BSB privateer. Not sure if he’s in Aylesbury or Buckingham, or both, but he ought to know what he’s doing.
