Edge is a great browser now it uses the Chromium engine. Old Edge was pants, but I prefer it to Chrome now.

Well chrome runs as slow as a one legged asthmatic sloth on here, so I suspect skullduggery is afoot! `Edge it is then...

Try Firefox. We run that on our Windoze machines and Chrome on the android stuff.

Strictly speaking I don't have to comply with the label regs if I sell directly to the consumer, which I do with 90% of my jars.

I bloody love Honey, but fuck me is the 'proper' stuff expensive! As in, stuff which you know isn't cut with Chinese sugar and god knows what else

I kinda don't mind paying it TBH 'cause I also love Bees. I just don't buy it very much. Makes amazing ice cream, both 'cause of the flavour and 'cause of the texture it provides.

This. Local stuff here is about 10-12€ a jar Normal jam jar sized ones too, not gurtly big ones!!

Not honey bee related but I chucked my gardening fleece in a heap in the conservatory last time I wore it. A couple of days ago I noticed a few holes in an old J-cloth on my window wash bucket and thought 'oh oh, mice'. Then I saw a solitary, quite small bee too-ing and fro-ing with pale stuff in the jaws - disappearing into a fold in my fleece.

Told my wife.

Now I'm not allowed to move the fleece until she's completed her research on when the eggs will have hatched. (Apparently they lay male eggs at one end of a tubular nest and female at the other and stuff the middle with pollen as food for them when they hatch. One sex hatches first and leaves, then the other matures and leaves). 3 or 4 feet away is a new, uninhabited 'bee/bug hotel' that I haven't got round to putting in the garden.

I'm not 100% sure what flowers its come from tbh, but think of everything that has flowered so far this year, apple, pear, chestnut, spring flowers etc. I don't normally have any to extract at this time of year, I usually have a lot of blackberry, summer flowers, and lime tree in particular to extract in a month's time.

I sell at £5 a jar because all I want to do is cover my costs of the hobby and get rid of it as quickly as possible. This year may be the last time I stick to a fiver though, I've just found out how much the jars and labels have gone up by .

I've never posted jars before, I'll look into it and see how much it'd cost, however if you're anywhere near Wadebridge Cornwall, Rutland or builth wells we'll be near you over the next few months

One pound jars are about a tenner a shout at Farmer's Markets and the like IME. I suppose you don't have to buy from somewhere which charges the Yuppie tax, but no-one else sells it

My local 'health food' shop sells locally branded honey but I think it's a group of keepers that banded together and pool resources and product so they have a certain scale. My friend and neighbour used to supply from her 3 or 4 hives but gave it up and moved to Shropshire...production was limited anyway and quantities varied quite a lot from year to year.

I note the availability of organic honey....I wondered how you'd make non-organic honey. (Wife says organic is made with pollen only from organic plants, but, unless the hives are completely surrounded for some distance with only organic produce, how can they be sure? Most peoples gardens probably wouldn't qualify for organic certification! )

The area around where Yambo lives is a huge pine honey producer. It’s wonderful stuff and pretty cheap.
