Yes, watching it on Discovery +
I'll try and watch all 4 rounds this year, I got interested in endurance racing quite young, probably about 12, reading tales of daring do at the car Le Mans in the 1930s, followed by the Team Bike reports in the 1980s.

Who do you think will win?
I think the FCC Honda will win because they will probably have one less pit stop than SERT or YART, but I want SERT to win.

I'm in the same boat as you,the Honda should need less fuel but I'd rather YART or SERT take the top step. Then again in 24 hours of Endurance anything can happen
I noticed one of the stocker's cartwheeled to semi oblivion in the first 5 minute's & Foray's BMW has been in the pits...

Yep!
I think the commentary said the Beemer went out with a bent selector fork. Guess the old days are gone, when they'd strip and rebuild a gearbox to get out for the last 15 mins to cross the line still rolling
Good to see Walker the Stalker racing! Surprised McWilliams isn't out there

Oh, they just said the BMW is back after losing 80 odd laps, but BMW haven't said what the problem is. Commentators were suggesting electrics, though as they are plug and play, seems a bit doubtful.
The V4 Ducati has gone bang though

Re: Anyone else watching WEC Spa 24hrs?
Commentators are saying the lighting on the circuit is poor and that they have "never seen a 24 hour race as dark as this".
Obviously never watched the races at Spa before the race got taken away... it was pitch black back in those days!

Weird things you notice - Canepa's girlfriend has changed outfit at least 3 times.

Re: Anyone else watching WEC Spa 24hrs?
First visit for me would have been early 80s... remember seeing the VF750F run by Team Bike finish 2nd. Did most years after that, right up to the final cancelled event - along with 10,000 other people we turned up on the Friday to discover the circuit was deserted. The race had been cancelled a week earlier when the FIM cancelled the homologation. Went to watch the Tour de France go through Liege instead.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 9:28 pm I went to Spa in 1986 to watch the 24 Hour, it was very dark

Especially in the daytime... the storms around the circuit are legendary.Yorick wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 9:30 pmEven in the day time?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 9:28 pm I went to Spa in 1986 to watch the 24 Hour, it was very dark

Somehow I've still not been to Spa,it's looking good from the living room
I know it's endurance ,but I wasn't expecting so much mechanical carnage so early
I can see a return to Paul Ricard on the horizon

I could be talked into going to Spa next year, I can't be arsed to ride all the way to Le Castellet

I think someone hit a deer in 1986 in the night.
