Left a fair old literary legacy though - The Border Trilogy is a set of American classics, beautifully written and really conjure up a sense of time and place. He may be gone but they'll be in print in 100 years time (if we still have printed books!).

I have the Border Trilogy on my bookshelf (I don't keep many novels on there). He was one of my favourite authors and it seems he had a couple of books published towards the end of last year so I'll have to look them up next time I'm in UK as I won't be able to get them here.

He's one of those actors that i've seen in a lot of things without knowing his name! Just looked him up on IMDB and he's been making (a lot of) films since 1975.

Human remains were discovered by hikers on Mount Baldy Saturday morning.

At around 10 a.m., hikers contacted the Fontana Sheriff’s Station after coming across the remains in the Mount Baldy Wilderness Area.

Deputies along with the sheriff’s Emergency Operations Division responded to the scene.

The remains were transported to the coroner’s office where officials are working to identify the body.

Authorities said positive identification is expected next week. No further details were released.

Back in January, search efforts were underway when two hikers went missing in Mount Baldy including British actor Julian Sands, 65. Two other hikers were also found dead in the area before Sands went missing.
