Was glad of my European Green Flag policy last Sunday morning when the Volvo shat it's coolant about an hour south of Paris.

Got recovered, a taxi to Charles de Gaulle, plane to Manchester and a taxi home and the car will be back with me in 2 weeks time.

I think I got my money's worth on that one, the car on the other hand I'm not so sure, bloody thing was burning oil at 1l/1000 miles

Try AutoAid. Its only gone up by about £5 one the last 5 years and is bloody cheap to start with!

Lucky it's not a pussy willow or you'd have a house full of cats.

Lack of jeopardy in youtube videos

If you're watching a Mountain bike video, you already know if they are going to crash
If you're watching a 'barn find' car video, you already know if they get it to run
If you're watching a Resin table video, you already know if it's not going to work

Because they all insist on giving the game away, In the title, in the thumbnail, or in a clip in the first five seconds or ALL BLOODY THREE

You can be halfway through EG a MTB video "wow this jump looks really sketchy, I might crash". We know you aren't going to crash because if you were going to, you would have told us already.

Solicitors!

Need to update our wills, so rang around to get an estimate of costs.

One large firm wanted to charge us £30 + VAT for 'compliance checks', ie looking at DL/pasport to check we are who we say we are. Yes, they need to do it, no I am not paying £36 for them to glance at a photo.

Royal Mail. Again.

MrsJawa was waiting in all day for a delivery. Sitting in the living room her phone pings that it's been delivered.

Except it hasn't.

Eventually she gets a picture of a parcel sitting on a random doorstep.

Think of several hundred doorsteps, all pretty much identical.

The ever useless customer services people say that all theu can do is speak to the driver but she should walk round the estate looking for it.

Royal Mail are up there with Yodel in terms of uselessness these days.

I missed a delivery via APC Overnight largely due to the fact that no tracking data was available from their website either on the eve or day of their expected delivery . When I complained by email to them asking " Am I supposed to be bl**dy psychic ? ".......yes bl**dy not " bloody " , they told me it was rude and contained foul language and that they would not communicate further with me on the matter !

That's told me.......!

I have fired up the punkawallahs and deployed my dishdash/jilabiyah and sandals.

I just need to remember to send the missus to the door if the postman rings.

What I wear in my own house/garden is my business and the dishdash is very, erm, breezy but quite liberating.

(Heck, if it works for people in hot countries, it works for me too  )
