I did say I'd get him for it somehow, but I ran out of energy and just forgot about it.

I sold a bike to a guy and - stupidly - trusted him to sort paperwork. He didn’t, but my fault really.

Next bike I sold him pumped out its rear shock oil a few miles later. Normally no big deal - but this was a Nivomat self-levelling shock, so no spring.

Karma delivered by the bike!

Apparently I didn't know about the firmware update because I hadn't downloaded the app and connected via Bluetooth! Firmware now updated, well see how it goes

Adverts. We're watching Taskmaster at the moment on channel four watch again service and you can't skip the adverts. It's why I couldn't face another series but it is a really good show. The adverts though, I have to leave the room or mute the TV. It's not so much the adverts themselves, they're just a symptom. It's the fact that they must demonstrably work and therefore worth the money that they spend on them. Therefore, who are the absolute morons who buy stuff based on someone paid to tell you it's good when you're not actively looking to buy something like that. I know many people are thick but it must take a special kind of gullible fuck nugget consumer to look at an ad for flash floor cleaner that leaves the floor gleaming in a single pass, cat food that an animated cat likes or american beer being drunk by improbably attractive people to make a purchase. The whole thing makes me annoyed.

I'd not watch a program that had adverts which couldn't be skipped, it's been many a year since I watched live TV and thankfully none of the streaming services I have a subscription for show adverts.

I pay £4 a month to stream Planet Rock advertising free. Its bliss

Wife used to guess when the ads were about to start and fast forward before they kicked in, then you could FF through them. However, not sure which channel that worked on (it didn't work once the ads had started). Worth a try perhaps (although they do seem to be going the American way and chucking in ads almost at random ).

On the plus side in my experience, at least it's dead and intact. My cat brought me the guts of a mouse (I assume) and put them on the floor next to my bed for me to tread on in the morning many years ago. My dog brought me a very much still alive rat that was very much worse for wear and had a broken back... thanks mate. Serves me right for putting that on my amazon wishlist.

My total lack of understanding of the French benefits system - I've never had to claim unemployment benefit before and don't have anyone up here that can help me understand

Apparently I have been paid for 36 days of holiday

How the fuck do I get 36 days holiday pay when I only worked for 5.5 months? Ok, it's 36 days when the amount they are using is divided up by the amount that I'd get from the state, I think. But I used all my holiday before I finished, so how come that is being counted as a benefit - I essentially had two weeks holiday the last month I worked, so that meant I shouldn't have got any holiday pay benefit because it was paid as actual holiday within my last salary.

So either my employer's accountant has fucked up or the Pôle Emploi has fucked up.

Either way, I get no benefits until 7th July.

The wage slips are so complicated that I haven't worked them out yet. And I can't get to see anyone to discuss this until two weeks time (hopefully be able to drive by then) so am basically pretty screwed

Fucking universe and it's bats again - just as everything seems to be going well and yet another things smacks me on the back of the head

I don’t miss that aspect of having cats. I’ve had to catch birds, mice and frogs that they used to bring in. We’ve also found a mouse that died under the bath and started to smell really bad and another that somehow got in to the rubber seal at the base of the dishwasher door and was steamed to death.

At least with the dogs I’ve only had to shoot one rat and one wood pigeon they caught to put them out of their misery.

When we used to have our mental Tabby 'Tip Toes' she almost entirely emptied a pond in a local neighbours garden.

Mainly gold fish with a few small carp i think (not a fish expert).

The neighbour came around and had a pop at my old man saying our cat had been stealing his fish lol.

I think they put netting over it eventually. Tip Toes had been bringing us fish weekly and we didn't know where she had been getting them from.

She eventually electricuted herself at the age of about 8, but should of gone far before that with the things she used to get up to. I think she launched herself from 2-3 story windows a few times and nearly got run over by a 7.5t truck which went over here but she must of been in the middle and the wheels missed.

She used to terrorise the local dogs.

I ended up building a new kitchen wall, as that was easier (and looked less weird) than trying to attach kitchen units to my house where salvador dali must have been in charge.
