It is just up the road on top of the Timmel summot pass, I attempted it, but I met the barrier first, hotel boss said try, but wasn't sure where the closure starts. I wasn't far off I reckon.

Full day riding today, down to the seaside and warmer weather. Tent time and having 2 nights, including chill day. Was up to Vipiteno on some pass, stunning . Then down hill to camp.

Still using no motorway and tolls, so took me on the delightful ss 51 through some of the Dolomites. The only thing with no motorways is, it takes you through town's but no probs really.

Tent up, shower and having beer now, not seen sea yet but it'll be behind a pile of camper vans, place is full of the bloody things.

Caorle...

Escaped from camp early for a walk about. Town is nice, street market nice, cathedral nice and plenty of cafes. Nice.

Camp is full and they proper squash them in. Tent spaces only. On the front, jeez, beach full of loungers. Sort of place i hate. No English here. Natives and germans.

Camp does have it's own outside bar with food, so not all bad. Moving on tomorrow, Croatia way I think.

Must mention the GS...It's been fantastic. Gets a bit gear change clunky on the tighter twisties, but for comfort, charging stuff, it's proper practical. 250 miles to a tank, happy days.

27° and thats bloody hot to me.. I'm in Senj for 2 nights, Croatia, down the coast road, bit disappointed at first, having read about it, but last 15 miles, can actually see the sea. . 👍

Earlier in the thread someone mentioned the lakes, can your remember which way you went ? There seems a couple ways to get there.

It was about 4.5 hours riding today, plenty pulled over and looked for camping, then thought bollox, hotel art for 2 nights. Crackin view from the window.

Easy day tomorrow, lakes , then heading to Split on Thursday. Got evening ferry to Ancona. 11 hrs and a nice cabin.

Got a few pic's, last nights sun going down , lay-by on coast road and Senj.

It does seem...that some countries aren't tied to all the bullshit we are in the UK.

Road workers in cowboy hat's, not hard hat's. E scooters wazzing about and no one getting upset.

I things common since is still the overriding rule in some parts of the world and the cotton wool effect hasn't happen yet. 🤷‍♂️

Not many photos today. Had a ride to the Plitvice national park which apparently contains waterfalls and lakes. I rode round and round and managed to glimpse it from the road for a second or two.

I pulled into a big touristy place, full of car's, bikes and coaches, coach drivers looking bored senseless, kicking the dust and having a fag. Went inside cafe for a cold drink and asked the young lady, if there was anywhere i could get a photo. Reply was, yes but it's 23.50 e , otherwise you can only see trees and carpark white lines.

Well, that was that, they can fcuk right off, so i made the hot journey back to hotel, stopping for coffee and cheesecake and very nice it was. The big bear campsite came to my aid. 🍵🍨

Campsites aren't very tent friendly, more for campers. It's all a bit sandy and little shade hotel pip's it just. 😁

Chilling in room, everything getting charged up then out for beer and food, usually knackered by 8.30 ish, watch a bit of TV and out. 👍

The lakes are ace, BUT it costs, and it is at least a few hours and a fair bit of walking to see the sights. We left the bikes back at the hotel and caught the bus there for the day. Every sort of waterfall imaginable, lakes and scenic trees and stuff.
