I’m jealous of your extended trip. I wouldn’t be able to swing that with work.

Very similar to the stuff Abel and i took to keep us going over 2 and a half weeks away in Norway. We took about 20 packets each, supplemented with rice packets but small portions size. I lost over half a stone on the trip as we only really ate those and no breakfast and very small lunch each day.
Just for @dern He also had an 1190 for the trip but the adventure R version. 6500 miles in the 2 and a half weeks and it never missed a beat on or off road.....but neither did my Multistrada

Re: KTM 1190 Adventure S
Set off this morning at about half eight to catch the 12.20 Chunnel. Few showers on the way but not too bad.
I didn’t realise but MotoGP is at le mans this weekend so there was a fair few bikes on board.
Took about six hours to get to my campsite half way to Toulouse. The route took me past Paris but one of the tunnels the sat nav wanted me to go on, a86 I think, forbade entry to bikes. So went to get some fuel and find a new route. The fuel gauge read full all the way down and I’d done about 330km so needed some and was hoping that eventually a pot hole would shake the sensor loose but there aren’t as many in France, at least not where I was. So told the sat nav I wanted to get the campsite but to avoid tunnels which avoided the a86 I couldn’t go down. Apart from the traffic around Paris at rush hour and a few roadworks it was plain sailing so the way, just a very very long way.
Found the campsite and it’s very pretty here and also very quiet. Had tea and got some jd on the go and ready for some sleep.
Five hours tomorrow to get where I’m going. Long way to go for a weekend but a change is as good as a rest.

It’s definitely better than uk motorway miles but by christ it gets boring after a while. Worth it now I’m down south though although the good weather I was expecting is not here.

Re: KTM 1190 Adventure S
Had an excellent weekend and now back at the campsite. Much luckier with the weather today and it stayed dry for the ride. Will see what tomorrow brings.
Bike has behaved well. I think if I was going to do a lot of travelling like this I’d choose something else. It’s been fine but character can get tiring after six hours.
Glad I’ve done the trip so far though. Time to pitch the tent and then tea.

Ok, expectations should be set low, it’s reconstituted food but if you need to carry food somewhere or have a back up it’s fine but it’s not comparable to making a proper dinner.
Chilli beans… taste pretty good, slightly crunchy as if it didn’t absorb all the water but I have it plenty of water and time. Would have again.
Dal with rice and spinach… tastes ok, weird texture, probably wouldn’t bother again.

Re: KTM 1190 Adventure S
The bike made it all the way bike without any issues and did really well.
I am considering changing it though.
Pros are that its pretty fast and blitzes traffic, it’s tall so visibility is good and handling is good.
Downsides are that it’s not a smooth engine. Id you Like character then you’ll love it but after five hours on a ride I would have preferred a turbine smooth 4. It’s also very very tall and can sometimes feel like a bit of a liability. It was never a problem really but there were a couple of moments where a dab was needed.
Also that relaxed sit up riding position puts you ride out in the wind and that gets tiring.
It’s a great bike, I think I just want something else now.
Not going to rush though, will give it a good clean and go for a shorter run in the uk and see how I feel.

Re: KTM 1190 Adventure S
I don't yet. I may wander off to a showroom and see what some bikes are like to sit on.
