Has anyone been watching?

The Shenanigans with the Dunlop wets are ridiculous and with Peter Hickman in particular. I’ve just seen his interview where he has said that he can’t get any NW200 spec wets and Dunlop don’t have any to give him, other tyre suppliers aren’t willing to sell him any either.

So if it’s wet he won’t be out, I think he’s hoping that other riders who have x amount of wet tyres for x amount of days will be able to give him a set as they won’t need them all if there’s a good few days of weather, it’s dry just now so fingers crossed. At the end of the day you want everyone running and running well so we can get the best racing thag we can get.

They were just saying that he’s the only officially sponsored Dunlop rider and yet they can’t supply him with NW200 spec wets, he said he doesn’t even know why. Others are running Dunlops I believe but not sure who, I remember last year a few having the issue with the delaminating rear Dunlops and I think Davey Todd was one but whether he’s still running them or not I don’t know.

A woman who is paralysed from the chest down is due to ride a superbike around a nine-mile (14.4km) road race course.

Claire Lomas, from Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, was paralysed in a horse-riding accident in 2007.

She is set to take on a lap of the North West 200 (NW200) race course in Northern Ireland on Thursday.

The 43-year-old, who completed the 2012 London Marathon in a robotic suit, said she was nervous but ready to take on the challenge.

Hope the weather doesn't interfere too much for her. What a thing to do - much respect.

People like this are awesome and help so many others just by 'doing' stuff that is unexpected!! I have a friend that I met whilst doing trackdays who is similarly paralysed, he even raced for a while - I have described it as 'racing from a wheelchair', but it is totally incredible.

It's seeing stories like this (and having friends like I have with various bits replaced or still doing stuff from a wheelchair) that gives other people with injuries hope and positivity about their own situations much respect to her and I bloody hope the weather gods are kind for a change!!!

Apparently the carbon wheels on the FHO BMW's aren't allowed in the NW200 rules. Homologation or sommat.

Josh Brookes says he and Peter Hickman have been excluded from qualifying and not allowed to race as the FHO Racing team's BMWs have carbon wheels, which are not allowed in the regulations.

Brookes has said the team have withdrawn from the meeting as a result.

The M1000RR MY23 bike is homologated with carbon wheels which aren’t allowed to be used and they can’t use other wheels because the bike isn’t homologated with those wheels.

I’m presuming the MY22 bike was homologated with the other wheels, you can usually spec the bike with carbon wheels, forged wheels etc, so I’m thinking that was an option last year but with the new M1000RR bike I’m thinking it comes with carbon wheels and that’s it.
