So two weeks and 500 miles later and it's going for its first service tomorrow. Still very happy with it and the miles have loosened it up nicely now, as I play with more of the rev range- it is deceptively fast much like a V twin with its 270 degree crank, but also extraordinarily easy to ride. It mostly stays in sport mode now although I did have occasion to put it into rain mode last week as my T140 let me down 100 yards from home en-route to TOMCC meeting... annoyingly this merely changes the throttle response/tc and doesn't clean the bike afterwards.....
I've now added black throttle body covers which I think are an improvement (AKA M&P tat albeit supplied by Triumph ) and I think I'll probably fork out for a CNC machined brake fluid reservoir sometime in the near future

Not too much to add. Still loving the bike and have put about 1200 miles on it now- every ride out has been enjoyable as I get to know the bike more and more. The burble on the overrrun from the V&H pipes is music to my ears, the lazy way it lifts the front in 1st and 2nd is addictive, the handling and riding position inspire confidence, and the seat much more comfortable than it appears (even after 4 hour session taking in Cheddar Gorge and most of Somerset/Wiltshire a few weeks back). The only minor complaints I have are squealing from brake at low speed (apparently quiet a common issue) and the paint on the instrument bezel chips very easily (Premier Bikes swapped it out at first service but I have now noticed another small chip). Dare I say it's a keeper...?

Very nice bikes - I demoed that and the 1200XE Scrambler - and ended up with the Scrambler! But I am 6ft 3inches and out the Street Twin felt small.
BTW, I also didn't like the way it handled - but the dealer made some excuses about how it had been set up - so I am guessing it was them , not the bike.

Very nice bikes - I demoed that and the 1200XE Scrambler - and ended up with the Scrambler! But I am 6ft 3inches and out the Street Twin felt small.

Street or Speed? They are very different bikes, the Street has the 900 engine and is physically very small- even for me at 5'8''. The Speed Twin fits me perfectly so may well be a too small for all you weirdo tall freaks out there .
Interesting to hear you didn't get on with the handling, although I felt the same about the Thruxton R i demod before buying the Speed Twin but I seem to be very much in the minority there. The engines though.... I never thought a parallel twin could be so entertaining

The engines are fantastic road engines with oodles of torque when you need it
