Aftermarket shocks
The shocks on my old GS are now 21yo and some 67000 miles old, so who's the daddy for aftermarket stuff now? I'm not about to spunk the guts of 2k on a pair of Ohlins.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
All the usual suspects.
Nitron
K-Tech
Maxton
Hagon
White Power
Some places offer a revalve too,if the o/e shocks are worth doing.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
I fitted a YSS to the old K100 after the original Nivomat self adjusted while lent over at speed. Money well spent, about £150 iirc.
Got it from BSK speedworks.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
I've stuck a YSS on the XJ6... big improvement over the saggy standard shock. It's not up to my old Ohlins on the FZ but the adjustable damping works well enough to change the feel.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
YSS shocks are good for the price, I've got them on 3 of my 4 bikes, I got a mega discount on the Suzuki's shock from Black and White bikes

I fitted a YSS to my SV650,seems to be good value. If I fit a shock to my Street Triple I'll spend a bit more and buy a Nitron

Re: Aftermarket shocks
Hagon make front and rear for the GS.
I bought an old K1200RS that came with a Hagon rear and it was great. I've got Hagons on the Bullet too.
I think you get what you pay for with the Hagons, the cheap ones are pretty basic, but the higher end monoshocks and the 2810 twin shocks are pretty good.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
I think that's true of any brand of shock, the cheap ones are basic, the more expensive ones are better, there are no cheap, good shocks, you have to choose the spec shock you want, and then choose the make that you feel is the best value.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 5:28 pm Hagon make front and rear for the GS.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
Put Nitrons on the Rockster last year, or year before, and so far very happy with them.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
I had a Nitron on my zx636r which transformed the handling of the bike from good to brilliant but i do know a couple of people who have used Wilbers shocks on GS Beemers and rate them very highly

Re: Aftermarket shocks
Yup, they built the 2810's on my Bullet for me, to my weight and use case. I got the impression they don't sell many 2810's for the Bullet, but it's a keeper so they were worth it.Taipan wrote: ↑Mon Apr 24, 2023 2:51 pmAlso Hagons will build them to your weight etc.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Sat Apr 22, 2023 5:28 pm Hagon make front and rear for the GS.

Re: Aftermarket shocks
With YSS you tell them your weight and they build the shocks to order for you, at least that's what I've been told by the people selling them to me.
