2023 OFFICIAL Extravaganza trackday thread. come one, come all. 11/12/13 August

Post by weeksy »

Right then... after discussions on other threads and with @Welsh Muffin we're going to go with

11/12/13 August.
https://phil-bevan-trackdays.myshopify. ... ons/august

Do not use this link for booking, @Alan PBTD will provide a link for us to book with.

We'll be either getting there Thurs night, or early start on Fri morning, to get Mrs Weeksy on track for both Fri and Sat.

I'd suspect we'll do Fri night hotel and Sat at track... but that remains to be seen.

As usual, we'll be doing a BBQ type setup on the Sat evening which will be £10 per person for food/beer. (not LOTS of beer, just a few...the rest, you bring yourself)... But no-one has ever died of starvation at our events that's for sure. Some have almost passed out from meat sweats though :)

Any questions, this is the place, the thread and the discussions.

But ALL are welcome, novices, superstars and anything inbetween.

As everyone is replying to the other thread I thought it should be this one.

In all honesty when I opened the sub forum I missed the pinned thread at the top on the first look.

I'm in for the August date

I can easily change it, but I thought pinning it to the top of all of them made sense. Maybe not.

Excellent all round then. (apart from @2xtwins sorry).

The big man is away at the moment but he'll get on the case and sort us a link for booking on.

I'll be booking in for at least the Saturday, likely Friday too but will firm it up nearer the time.

Might even actually bring the LC as well this time too ( either that or not again  )

At the moment, yep just the ZX6, but plenty of time for something else to arrive in the garage between now and then- not sure what currently but it's been a while, and I have very itchy bike-buying fingers at the moment :D

The V4 Tuono is the only one of those that really appeals these days, and it has for quite a long time :)
I'd still quite like an SDR at some point, would have to be a Gen3 though....

Morning All

Following this up they'll be a specific / private ''On Line'' booking link for you lot on our web site. I'll let you know in April. Please do not book via our normal web site August threads as it'll cause mucho confusion for me and Steve.

There's a lot of up to date info on the web site and as normal now all ''Signing On'' procedures will be done 5 days before the event via direct E mail.

Main topic for you lot to work on is the noise limit - it's 96.00 DB Drive By. We don't do Static tests - but to give you an idea 96.00DB equates to 98DB static irrespective of engine size and configaration. Due to increased winging from local residents we've no flexability on this - bikes must not exceed this limit ''on track'' and unfortunatley there's no second chance / ''I'll put my DB killer in now''.

We've just completed our opening 2023 events with great success - even with mixed weather. I had to remove 2 bikes for noise - a new ish fireblade that looked completley std but had had it's cat removed ( 101 DB DB cat replaced with straight through link pipe ) and a 890 KTM with a supposedly silenced Ackro complete system ( 102 db DB ). Both bikes were parked up for the rest of the day. As I said to both riders there are specific companies that will now produce specific long silencers with correct mapping to meet the noise limits. We have also found BMW S1000 RR's will loose 35 BHP with incorrect matching ''quiet'' silencers - and one rider just couldn't cope with just 165 BHP...

And one thing if you're running tyre warmers please remember to remove them before going out on track...it did happen !

All the best and talk soon

ta

Alan

From one end of the paddock to the front of the assembly area. Left it on the back wheel. 100m ?

Well, it was a black warmer..

Rider was well embarrassed, and the warmer looked OK but failed when we checked it !

Never happened before with us, but have seen it happen elsewhere.

Wow. I'm picturing the cable wrapped round the axle and dragging the generator along but hopefully it was less dramatic.

So it's time for a list :)

Please note, this is not something you need to worry about, if you don't make it etc it's OK... It's just to give a good indication of numbers for Alan to save spaces for
