New Hornet
Re: New Hornet
And the SV650 is now £6999. I remember them being around £5750 when I passed my test 2 years ago. Quite the hike in that time.
To be fair when looking at the Hornet and the GXS-8S at Motorcycle Live, the Suzuki did seem more premium to me.

I'm looking forward to seeing what both this and the Suzuki are like in the spring.
Wonder how much the re-heated 790 Duke is going to be?

Someone watch this and let me know what he thinks, I would do it myself, if it wasn't for this dashed idleness...

Re: New Hornet
I'd forgotten about this - the CF Moto 790 Duke is £7999 too, just like the GSX8S.
Actually did swing by a Honda dealer earlier today - didn't have any Hornets though. And I'm afraid I can't being myself to watch that on YouTube either.

I watched that last night. So far it's exceeded his expectations. He's got the bike for a few days so he'll be doing some more video's on it.He seemed to like the engine, didn't like it's looks.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 6:49 pm Someone watch this and let me know what he thinks, I would do it myself, if it wasn't for this dashed idleness...

Re: New Hornet
The only TMF video I wated was his initial review of the 650 twin Enfield. I didn't like/dislike, I'm just not a YouTube review watcher. Is it just me that prefers to read a review than watch one?

Re: New Hornet
Yes, me too. It has to be a bike I'm really interested in to watch any of his output. But at least he doesn't actively annoy me, like Lambchop does.westers151 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 9:22 pmI would, but I find him very boring.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Fri Feb 17, 2023 6:49 pm Someone watch this and let me know what he thinks, I would do it myself, if it wasn't for this dashed idleness...

Re: New Hornet
It's a pound shop 790 Duke without the pizazz and the attitude. It's exactly what you'd expect from Honda.

Re: New Hornet
The last time I owned a Honda was 1979,but I'm considering this bike, less than 200 KG,90 BHP for £7K & it's not Chinese.I was looking on line earlier to see about booking a demo ride..

Re: New Hornet
One thing I did notice in TMF's video was the state of the shock after being ridden for not many miles on salted roads. If I was buying one the first thing I'd invest in would be a hugger for the rear wheel to protect the shock.

Same reason Mazda sold half a million MX5s in the time it took Lotus to nearly go out of business (again).

Re: New Hornet
We were passing Bill Smith's in Chester earlier on so I called in to ask when they'd be getting one of these in...and they already had one.
I was sceptical about the looks of it before seeing it but it is a lot nicer looking in the metal, much more so than the official photos and certainly than the lifestyle stuff on Honda's website. It's also surprisingly 'bigger' than I thought it was going to be; it's a proper-sized bike.
The bag was just hanging off the back to enable legover.
Who has their levers that high??
Having a quick sit on it was comfy, well finished - nice. It feels like you're sitting in it, a little bit like Monster 1200/821s. Very light to move around as you'd expect.
My daughter offered to take a pic for reference but sadly we only got this (she's not normally such a klutz):
Their demonstrator arrives Tues and should be available Thursday so I might nip over and have a go.
