When was the last time I offended someone?
Seemingly, every time I open my mouth or post something, so I sit in silence a lot and don't post much here or anywhere else. Nearly every time I log on here I write a reply and delete it before posting.
My wife used to call me a 'social retard'.
It's a real source of anxiety.
That's exactly the situation I found myself in a few years ago.
I came from a background where there was over 70 blokes working from a depot. Disagreements were sorted out very quickly and friendships made. All very simple and easy going.
I then ended up mixing with people from a totally different background. My god it was difficult. They very much took the opposite approach. Nothing was ever said face to face, always sniping. It was ridiculous.
Taught me a valuable lesson though. As long as its not deliberately hurtful or malicious then I just say it.
I've made new friends now and life is much better.
And there's no need to worry about writing things down, the more you write the more people will "get" you.
