Decided to go sit in the fresh air - within minutes I was 'got at' by a sodding mosquito. Despite wearing jeans and a t shirt (instead of the indoor clothes of shorts and strappy top) and covering all exposed bits I could reach with the Avon stuff (that is supposed to be a deterrent, but isn't )

We don't have these bitey things on the mountain. Gonna have to wait for a cool day (or rain) to go sit outside!!!

Wanted a quick lunchtime ride.

Needed fuel.

Normal do pay at pump but in my rush to leave the house couldn't find my cards, never mind I can use my phone.

Fill up at Tesco, walk into one way system in the shop, hold the door open for the lady walking behind me

"Oh don't worry, I think I have to wait for you" she says, just as the lady behind a till says "could you wait there please" like I'm about to get shot.

Oh right. I've ruined some unannounced "one in one out" policy that isn't even on any signs. She's behind a till but a sign says "till closed please use other side". She's literally sat there doing nothing.

On the other side is the other till. Where by jove the assistant is having a right old chinwag with the customer, who has already finished paying. I have my earplugs in so barely can hear the jolly discussion but let's just assume it's something like how he's discovered the daily quick wash on his washing machine and it's revolutionised his life. It carries on for a good solid minute as I stand there.

I'm a patient person (who has worked behind tills several times in my life) but I'm now getting to the "tut and act obviously irked" stage of Britishness. On they carry for another 30 seconds, his hand on the door handle. And there's me telling my kids to avoid touching surfaces unnecessarily in the current pandemic. Finally he gives in just as I'm about to upgrade to very British signing and throws in the towel, and I'm called over as if she's doing me a favour.

This shit is why I pay at pump and self service checkouts.

I went into TK Maxx on the way home yesterday. Jumped off the bike, left helmet on and visor down as I walked in. I got challenged, of course, by the Guardian of the Door.
'You need a face covering'
'I have one', I replied, pointing somewhat unnecessarily to my helmet.
'That's not an acceptable form of face covering', she countered. 'Can I ask you to put one of these on?', she continued, pointing at a stack of plastic face visors that had clearly been used before, washed and then thrown back in the pile, and which I'm sure would have provided no greater level of respiratory protection to my fellow shoppers anyway.
'No', I replied, 'But thank you anyway'. I then smiled, sanitised my hands and proceeded about my bargain-hunting business.

That'll stick it to the CV19 man, proving my rebellious credentials.

Couple of years ago I woke to the sound of the Beta engine running. Had been running a while as almost out of fuel and garage grey with smoke.
I put it down to having jet washed the bike the day before and water in the starter switch.

But just went in the garage and the Husqy had fallen over and got tangled with Pen's little AJP. Brake lever jammed into her side panel . Took ages to separate them. Taking off panel and brake lever.
But, it fell over the 'wrong way'.
Physically impossible to fall that way unless with a mighty push.

If it had fallen the normal way, it would have fallen into the Suzuki.

Lots of other little things as well. Spooky.

It's got a proper strong door with several locking points.

Meh... thanks to a fucking greedy c'unt estate agent, the entire deal, which was pretty much agreed has just collapsed. Fucking arseholes. If a meteor landed on their office this afternoon, I would stand outside and open a bottle of champagne and cheer as their bodies were removed from the rubble.

I've had one really good conveyancer, worth every penny. Couldn't thank them enough.

This was after dealing with two utterly useless ones.

Even better, brilliant conveyancer sorted out the second conveyancer for me.

Mrs. Gremlin talks a lot in her sleep. Proper shouty sometimes. I used to listen to see if I could get some juicy gossip or anything, but there's only so many times you can listen to nonsense, such as, 'Well, you take the cat to Barbados if you want to, I'm going to apply mustard to the walls!' or 'Leave it there. NO THERE! I'll put my shoes on IN THE MORNING. Yeah? We'll see about that!' before you learn to roll over and ignore it.

For the last 18 months I've work for a company that deals a lot in educational IT, for 20 years I worked in corporate environments.

I've just told an IT Director of a multi academy trust that he didn't need SFP's to link three cheapy HPE 1gbe switches together in the same cabinet. He said he wanted to do it that way anyway. So I told him he would need four SFP's he argued that he only needed three because it was only three switches.

I give up.

Small form-factor pluggable transceiver.

Essentially plug-in adaptors to allow fibre interconnects.... really handy if your switches are over 95m from each other or you need speeds over 10bge, etc..

1 SFP = 1 port for fibre.

To connect three switches, one of them would need two ports, ergo, four SFP's in total.
