No pics but a small video.

I do hate cameras as it makes things look like they're completely flat. But it is a gap lol

Took the wifes Ebike out today... i was tired from Zwift racing yesterday, but sometimes the brain needs some sky and air... It was horrible, muddy, puddly, messy.... but i enjoyed the ride lots... wasn't cold and wasn't raining... All good :)

Grim here, no rain but very muddy and windy and I've tweaked my back pruning a tree in the garden so I've decided not to go out tonight.

That looks very Mad Max - I bet they work well, drag like buggery and really hurt if you run over someone (or yourself)

I haven't done much in weeks - shit weather, rain, freezing conditions - and then the death plague. Hopefully next week

ahaha yes, they do look kinda dystopian dont they

They do drag, especially on the tarmac. They are really noisy, all you get on uniced tarmac is the constant scratchy noise. Thats how you know when your on ice, they go quiet all of a sudden. But they are awesome on ice. Safer to cycle on sheet ice than to walk on it with them on.
These ones are 27.5 Schwalbe Ice Spikers, at about 800grams each (ish). Which is 'lightweight' compared to the Continental SpikeClaw i have for the 26er, which are 1.2kg each!!

As for hurting someone if you run them over, i havent done that yet, but will report back if i do

Had to pick the van up from the spanner folks on Friday, so I took the E-Bike up in the hills to pick it up.

Not many miles 12 miles, 1,339ft of climb, nice little start to 2023

Done Richmond park twice so far this year. Crept up to 80.5kg (fat sod) want to hot 72kg and also I have my first 1/2 marathon in April, the London land marks run.

Did a nice 55km loop to Richmond park and back, that’s including 3 laps, next time I’ll up it to 4 or 5.

Dry, mostly, grip levels higher than they've been in ages. Awesome ride.

Frigid half commute this morning. Very slippery in places.

Considering how wet it's been - having everything all frozen solid has been brilliant! I keep meaning to stop and take a picture on the way to work, but I don't want to take my gloves off! Still, not cold enough to freeze the water in my drink bottle like it was a few weeks back so that's something!

3 days of frigid nocturnal over the Downs commutes have been awesome, little bit of time pressure meant a good av HR for an hour on the first two and 30 mins on the last one this morning as I stayed a stop longer on the train (still a technical, icy climb onto the top of the Downs). Too cold to stop for photos but all you’d have seen was darkness from a closed A26 for ice and flooding near Beddingham and a nose to tail lights along the A27 and C7.

The Evil needs some TLC as the headsets knocked loose again (wonder if hot house to cold ride to hot work isn’t helping) and top gear is skipping when I’m hoofing it on boost).
