I've considered it as an alternative commuting mule to my TIger 800 but since I've been WFH since Feb, its not really a requirement!
what's not to like about them air cooled, shaft drive, comfy, look great etc..

I think it might struggle to compete with your Tiger, but then as I said I don't know if it's trying to, it seems to be in a class of one.
It's quirky enough to run on it's own and it's hard to compare it to much else.

Correct, though, the TIger is only 90bhp so not massively quicker, certainly no less comfortable and the advantage of a shaftie for a high miler is not to be underestimated. You're right though, I'd buy it for its individuality May be when 3-4 year old models are on the market,

Si Hargreaves seemed to really like it. I recall he said something like it wasn't objectively better than other bikes, but he'd have one. I think they look great.

Hate that colour scheme, but I liek it in solid colours. Wouldn't mind owning a MG at some point as i'm intrigued by the engine, but if i was to buy that style bike tomorrow I think i'd prefer the RE Himalaya.

I think that's one of the best looking bikes out there at the moment.

I think your brain is wired very differently to mine.
I prefer the softer lines of that MG to the harsh and angular shapes of a KTM. I ride a steel alloy framed MTB by choice, whilst I bet you're happy riding an aluminium framed MTB.

Absolutely, that's what's great about motorbikes/motorbikers, the differences.

I don't care what my MTB is made of, it's all about it's ability to go downhill that counts, it could be the ugliest bike on the planet but if it descends well, i'll take it.

I used to be like that, but then I got old and now I'll take the slower bike over the fast one as long as I feel good whilst riding it.

I couldn't tell you why I like the V85. I just do. But I think it's cos I like quirky/different things. I suspect it won't have quite the playful edge I like in bikes so doubt I'll get to try one

My only problem with it is whether its got enough real world power.
roll-on acceleration whilst 2 up or loaded should be easy. I'm not sure that pushing 235kgs (when full of fuel) with 80bhp would be that relaxed at higher speeds.
Might have to try one.

Sounds similar to the stats for the Rockster (ish) - plenty of real-world 'power' there.
