A side effect is a mini heatwave. It's 23c in town right now and not a fleece or cardie in sight :)
It's 24c now. It's weird.

Mrs. G and I took the Hound of the Stupidville for a long, wintery walk yesterday morning and into the early afternoon with good friends. Came back and had a lovely lunch of piping-hot beef, chorizo and sweet potato stew with roasted baby spuds and veg. Retired to the lounge and sat talking shite 'til early evening when they left, well fed and a bit merry.

Simple pleasures.

Eating the leftover stew now. Bloody 'andsome.

Greminette has a part-time job in Halfords. She came home last with a box of Lindor choccies. Apparently some bloke came in looking for an ice scrapper. Unsurprisingly, there were none to be had, so as she had two in her car, she went out to the car park, grabbed one and gave it to him. Ten minutes later he came back with a box of chocolates to say thank you.

I like the fact that she is quite a thoughtful and caring kid. She must get that from her mother. :D

I was quite impressed that insuring the van is half the price of the Kuga.

I had air-conditioned seats in the Mustang I hired.... nice for 5 minutes, but any longer than that and I started getting frostbitten balls... not pleasant.

Revealing my age to my new colleague who looked truly shocked !

"My parents asked how old you were I said 30-35 and they said 'no he's younger than that'"

I'm 46 so I'll take that :banana-dance: :banana-dance:

Not so much happy, but made me laugh. Mrs. Gremlin had a call from a supplier saying a hamper was being sent as a thank you at Christmas. I've just opened it.

Tea and biscuits with a bit of Christmas pud and brandy butter. Fuck knows how much the supplier got striped for that.

Six pack and a bottle of Liebfraumilch would have been a better bet.

Opening my prezzies today I felt an obvious book. I'm not a book fan but lived in hope.
It was a huge local best seller. It's a semi true book about the island's history. It's getting rave reviews everywhere. As I love this island it made me smile.

Then she said to look at inside cover. She'd got it personally signed by the author :)

After much teasing me, it turns out the author is one of my best pals. The one I do the Iron-man races with. He's from Bradford and I was playing poker with the bugger a few days ago :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I'd never have guessed in a million years
