Re: What have you done today thread?
Wasted 3 hrs today bleeding up the brakes on the xsr.
Changed the banjo for a hydraulic switch (MOT due), pushed the pads well out, popped off the old banjo, nipped up the new one, pressed pads back in, fluid back in the reservoir. Easy peasy methinks.
Sq root of fuck all line pressure.
Hence the following 3 hrs of swearing at the bastard thing.
Got a brake light now though!

Re: What have you done today thread?
My sussers expert popped round this morning to check the GasGas basic settings. Static and rider sag on rear end is perfect. But he agreed that forks need stiffer springs. Only 100€.
And his spacer to lower the shock is only 2€. He can change springs while forks in bike. So just a bit of labour to take shock apart for spacer.
Then went out for 4 hour enduro ride with Penny. I love this bike more and more every ride.
Penny ain't been out for a month so wanted easy ride. She just asked to avoid sandy stuff.
She loves bouncing about on the lava fields and she goes well there.
Top day. Now a nap before footy

Lots of driving today. Was -7.5 to start at 8am, over to Wales and then to Leigh and home. Was a beautiful day when the sun came up, but it only got above freezing briefly in the afternoon.

Re: What have you done today thread?
OMG, what a day!!
I've had a few long days and my poor brain is struggling with the two languages in the office!! Yesterday I stayed on late to finish answering emails even though I'd done most of my hours doing driving
So I went in a smidge early today just cos I knew it was a busy day. And damn I was right!!
But, worst, sooooooo many phone calls!
DAMN people speak fast on the phone!!! WTF do people (both languages) expect someone to pick up everything they say when they start at warp speed before you've even finished answering the phone!! LOL
I managed it. Not very well, but I did (with some requests to slow down/repeat)! The nice receptionist in the Med Centre in a different village changed to English for me!! The guy in the Med Centre over here didn't, but I'd had a break by then, so cleared my head a smidge - although at that point I was dealing with 2 x french enquiries, an English enquiry and had the tour op rep for the English one in the office
There was another french one too but I asked him if I could call him back as he was enquiring about a transfer in two weeks, whereas the others were all for taxis right NOW!! LOL
Turns out I'm not having two days off a week, which is a bit gutting, but maybe that will change when things settle down and my language skills improve!! LOL
Early night again - damn I need a holiday - and it's only a month into the job

Re: What have you done today thread?
Up fairly early. Medicine into daughter who has a stonking head cold, wife to work and me into the park for a walk with hound. Not too cold, so we had a good long wander and really enjoyed the fresh air. Returned home, walked to do a pastoral visit, then out to collect the Christmas tree. They had upgraded it to a bigger one FOC! Nice of them! Quick bit of shopping for bread and "something nice" for the still poorly daughter.
Back out to walk hound, colder now, so into the woods and just a shorter 35 minute walk. Collect wife from work, head home and start making dinner, working on sermons and looking at when I can get into the church hall to do cleaning.
A nice busy day, but not so busy that I could not enjoy what I am doing.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Yoga. Lots of it the last couple of days. Little and often. I've got my mat rolled out next to my home working desk.
What I thought (hoped) was a pulled muscle in my back, I'm suspecting is my herniated disc gone 'pop' again. Not much to be done other than wait for swelling to go down. So far it's not caused me any sciatica, so that's a blessing. If I sit for any length of time getting up is a bloody nightmare. Ditto getting out of bed.
So I've set an alarm on my phone. On the hour, every hour I'm doing my sun salutations* which is good for stretching the back. That and copious amounts of drugs. I like to have an holistic mix of alternative remedies and scientific medicines.
Getting old is shit, though the alternative is worse.
*Give them a go. Great way to stretch out of a morning.
