Good reminder to check mine. Luckily not due till Dec 23. So it'll have no MOT for a while as not riding it in Dec.

Correct... mine is a 2019.... so... July this year... lol.Potter wrote: Fri Nov 18, 2022 3:46 am I have no idea but isn't a bike like a car, it's a long time since I had a new car in the UK but IIRC it's three years until you need an MOT.
Problem now is, i'm not taking it in this weather, so it'll wait till Feb/March.

Very little difference from 19-22.
Mine was a 19, with 550 miles on the clocks.
Mostly just the display which shows a gear indicator. the rest is the same.

looking at the specs the Gas Gas has a slightly higher seat..Potter wrote: Fri Nov 18, 2022 10:30 am I suspect that there might be a few knocking about in a year or so with really low mileages and if I'm still interested then I'd do what you've done and buy a low mileage one.
I'd suspect you're correct, i think they're massively 1 trick pony to most people and many will find the idea very different to the reality. They need a certain mindset to own, to ride and to like... Most people won't have that.
If you can get past that, they're an absolute joy, both on the road and on track...

In the shop on Wednesday there was a GasGas SM parked next to the EC300.weeksy wrote: Fri Nov 18, 2022 10:39 amlooking at the specs the Gas Gas has a slightly higher seat..Potter wrote: Fri Nov 18, 2022 10:30 am I suspect that there might be a few knocking about in a year or so with really low mileages and if I'm still interested then I'd do what you've done and buy a low mileage one.

If i were you, i'd have a Demo on one either way, be it the Gas, KTM or Husky, they're all close enough to eachother in a riding context.
both @Tricky and @Couchy loved it at Donny... only IanB has ridden mine on the road.

Both are high. My Husky was a bit too high. Often couldn't get a foot down on tricky bits and toppled over.Potter wrote: Fri Nov 18, 2022 1:25 pmThat doesn't really help me much because I've never sat on one of those eitherYorick wrote: Fri Nov 18, 2022 10:59 am

IIRC my 300EXC was tall but I managed fine - it was awkward in enduro races though if you have a lot of technical foot-down places, I came unstuck a few times.
When I had sussers upgraded he dropped the seat by 2cms

Many/any mods done to it yet?
Still haven't ridden my SM700 yet sadly due to prolonged illness! Suspect it'll be a few weeks, maybe even a couple of months yet before I get a run in on it...

Ah christ, really?!?! How come...? Just riding MTB too much and not got time or anything else?
How much you get for it out of interest? I see that 2yr old 690 SMC R's are still selling for more than certain dealers are still selling brand new SM700's for!
