I grew up just outside of Penzance (near the Penwith moors), but left when I was 19, in 1992. The folks still live there, and I try and see them once a year - love the place, but couldn't live there.
Born in Penzance. Lived in Newquay, Downderry, Seaton & Looe. (before emigrating to England & then the US) Went to HS in Torpoint (on the days I didn't miss the bus.. or get off half way there & spend the day on the beach at Tregantle)
Went to Mounts Bay Comp in Heamoore, I only know the Penwith area, we never ventured out of it. Only recently started to investigate North Cornwall (North Cornwall, that's not proper cornwall, according to my mates mum - they lived in Newlyn), and haven't been to looe; Bude and the north coast I've been to - liked it, a different character to Penwith.

Don't know Tregantle, or that side of Cornwall.

Not sure how long ago you left, but my mates lost extended family when the Penlee lifeboat went down. Sad times, but it happens.

I don't think Scuffmark posts a lot,so maybe it's best if someone in authority picks a new challenge.

I could ride a few hundred metres on gritted roads and find ducks...I could probably reasonably push my bike as far as is needed to find ducks.

I just CBA.

IME you need to buy in October ish anyway to get one. I've bought Turkeys and Geese a couple of times from the sorts of farmers who raise one flock a year for Christmas. Nearly all of them are sold to repeat customers every year and if you're a noob you basically need to get your name down in Autumn.

I know it doesn't count but this is the closest I'll be getting to swans & ducks whilst on two wheel for a fair while, so here you go.

Maybe to spice this up next year we should award a prize to the person who has best performed this task.

The criteria could be any or none of the following:

Worst weather conditions task completed in
Most artistic picture
Best looking bike (obviously I have skin in the game here :-))
Entertainment factor
Riskiest shot

Any more for any more.....

Does that include when it's 120deg here in the Mojave?

You should be able to nail the riskiest shot by adorning your bike with rattlers and black widows!
