Picked up the wife's Xmas present. She was quite particular on what she wanted, so today I brought it home. Six 50L bags of John Innes compost. Hurt my back a bit aswel. 👍

Couple of hours, frequent swearing, no broken baubles, one confused dog, one bottle of prosecco and endless Christmas songs. Job jobbed.

Merry Christmas, you grumpy bastards. :D

North bound on the A1, not far after Ferrybridge, the South bound carriageway goes a bit quiet.

Then I see a lone Five-o biker who's going slow, looks like he's just set off from a standstill... half a mile later, three trafpol X5's.

Then 5 or 6 silver rollers, all in convoy followed by three more trafpol.

Can't have been politik types are they all use Jags, must have been Royals?

School Carol Service in our Church this morning, another one at 1.30pm for the rehearsal, got tyre replaced this afternoon and back to Church at 5.30pm for the other School Carol service. Currently at home with cat sat on my lap and the dog as my feet.

Lit wood burner, gave the dogs their meds (including the sneaky youngster who can filter a tablet out of food with ease) and fixed one of the living room Roman blinds, all whilst trying to dodge the plague ridden Mrs M.

Went for a lunch with mates which was cool. Then had a bit of info that was pretty misery making (nothing major, just got the miseries). Forced myself to go to the opening night of some friends' bar. Had a great chat with her and a bit with him, but it really is amazing how long a person can sit at a bar alone, surrounded by people and not manage any conversation  Really not good socially when on my own!!

But, then I walked back via another mates cafe/bar. Was pretty sure he wouldn't be open, but I had guessed he'd be doing some prep pre opening. He's one of the best people I know up here and has been totally awesome helping me learn french and so very kind when I broke my leg. The other day I stopped by and chatted in french, totally french, with him for the first time ever. But that was midday when I still had working brain cells. Normally by the evening my brain gives up!! LOL Nope, tonight we chatted for ages, all in french. Swapping laughs and stories of bikes and summer and stuff. So I walked away grinning like a loon :D :D :D :D :D

Still got the miseries, but I'm also very happy. Feels very weird!! LOL
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Finally saw the bone mechanic again today after he ordered the CT scan.
Three issues:
1, Carpal Tunnel (easy fix)
2, Fucked nerves from original Kaiser surgery 19 years ago (plan is to cut the two offenders)
3, Scaphoid is still fractured, I knew this. Offered to remove the entire bone & fuse my wrist. Not an option.

So the plan is fix 1 & 2. Recovery time is about two weeks (he said). Told him I ride third weekend of the month so lets schedule for the 4th week. Given that my provider is trying to dump everyone with my insurance & is averaging two months for approvals instead of the previous two weeks that puts it out to the end of February... Doc's surgery scheduler was thinking early January until she saw my insurance.

The two op's are on opposite sides of my wrist, so two surgeries in one visit.

Too vulgar for me.
Even if I had five or six Rollers (and I was important enough to get an escort) I wouldn't travel in them, I'd use them as a decoy and then drive myself in an old 4x4 with an MP5 tucked in by the seat.

Unless you're pretty decent with it and regularly practiced then in a stressful situation you're unlikely to hit anything that's more than a few metres away, it's better to have something more substantial (but still manageable) so you can spray the general area like a proper gangsta
As long as it's held sideways whilst firing, it'll do for me.

Finished off painting another two rooms. One to go. I'll be glad to see the back of it all.
