HELP ME...😱
Christ knows what's wrong with me, but I've started looking at Harleys. I'm assuming it's just winter browsing syndrome, but in the past it has been known to develop into something more serious.
It's the softtail heritage that I keep looking at. Wide bars, open face , leather jacket, short brown boots, you get the picture. Sunny day cruise kind of thing.

Re: HELP ME...😱
Buy one and see if you like it. If you don't,they seem to hold their price very well.

Ride one, quick, before it's too late. That'll probably cure you. And I mean quick, not quickly - the sooner you cure yourself the better...
If it doesn't, you're doomed.

You'll look cool if you wear the right kit, but don't underestimate how easily it'll ground out. Take a corner at normal bike speed and you'll be griding the foot boards down.

Do you have the urge to have a tattoo/spend copious hours polishing things/wear chaps/have an unhealthy obsession with tassels/started calling people bro.

Re: HELP ME...😱
That's what happened to me. Went to look at the 883 my daughter wanted and the rest is history.
Owned a brand new model and put around 1500 miles on it until a year later I sold the POS. Never again!!
Ps, but I can say I once owned a Harley

Re: HELP ME...😱
Suits you sir- I've always been suprised you haven't got one already
Seriouslt though, as everyone says, you have to have a proper try on one- I predict you'll know quite quickly whether it's for you or not- I know some love them, but they (or this one specifically at least - I can't remember the exact model name but it was a 1200 ) really aren't for me
I borrowed this one for half a day a few years back, I actually loved the look of it and really (really) tried to like it, but it honestly was one of the most uninspiring and in most ways, just unpleasant things I've ever ridden- and I'm including lumbering old 60s, 70s and 80s bike in that too....

Re: HELP ME...😱
I had a Buell a few years back, I'd ride that for half a day and wait for recovery the other half.

Re: HELP ME...😱
When Mrs rdbrgee and I went to the states a few years ago, I hired one from screaming Eagles in Cottonwood AZ. YES WE WERE ON HOLIDAY so riding gear was somewhat limited but The feeling that your feet were going to arrive first I found very un-nerving. it also displayed the feeling that it had a hinge before the tank very wobbly it had little to no lean angle, me shaving off copious amounts off the running boards, it was painfully slow and felt a little like I expect the rotivator must have driven like in the good life. we went up into the hills a place called Jerome where there were some bends The mrs was really uncomfortable on what passed as a seat and all the bends had to be carefully negotiated as though the road was an ice rink ( i was by this time worried I had shaved off so much foot board that I'd lose my deposit
here is the offending Bike and Mrs
not often the youngest in town!! let this be a warning The "quid pro quo" for hiring the bike was that I had to ride a horse up monument valley! this really should put you off
Agricultural doesn't even come close

Re: HELP ME...😱
Well, after that little lot, I think my disturbing thoughts have been permanently put to bed. Thanks everyone for your contributions during this difficult period.

I knew someone who had a 236bhp 1978 Z1000, we asked him why he hardly ever rode it, and he admitted it wasn't very nice to ride.
