Privateer - great bikes - makes me an early adopter!
It’s great that they are picking up on young talent and letting them develop with a great coach
Absolutely mate, it's fantastic from both them and Katy. As you can imagine, we're pretty excited by it all.Mr Moofo wrote: Fri Nov 25, 2022 7:13 pm Great that it is coming to fruition!

Def time to buy a race van or motorhome !
But i can't help but think that when we had the Vito, it wasn't quite enough and to be really worth it i'd need to be going daft big like a Peugeot Boxer type size and that becomes considerably less practical day to day. However i basically don't ever drive the car, unless going somewhere with MTBs. Every now and again i go to the Supermarket, but mostly Mrs Weeksy is about anyway so i could in theory take the Focus.
The van thing will and is likely to happen... I just don't know if it'll be 3 months, 12 months or 3 years from now.
Super. I'm in for 3Nordboy wrote: Fri Nov 25, 2022 8:36 pmhttps://www.aspirecomps.co.uk/competiti ... -december/weeksy wrote: Fri Nov 25, 2022 2:10 pmI spent the morning looking and TBH there's more options now than there was when i was looking last time.

Got to be worth a punt? Looks ideal for what you want.
Well we were offered either bike, a 161 or a 141 but we decided after discussions with Katy to go 141, well, i say WE decided, i didMr Moofo wrote: Fri Nov 25, 2022 7:13 pm Great that it is coming to fruition!

Which is the correct decision - the 141 seems way more capable that the front travel suggests. They tend to say the 161 is a race bike that needs to be ridden really had to get the best out of it. So a bit like feeding stawberries to a pig in my case!weeksy wrote: Sat Nov 26, 2022 8:06 amWell we were offered either bike, a 161 or a 141 but we decided after discussions with Katy to go 141, well, i say WE decided, i didMr Moofo wrote: Fri Nov 25, 2022 7:13 pm Great that it is coming to fruition!

Sometimes the boy doesn’t know everything and he just sees numbers, 161, bigger is better… Not necessarily the case, especially for the stuff we’ve got planned with the Privateer which is for him, fairly simple terrain at say Southern Enduro, so a bit less burly, a bit lighter, bit poppier, he’ll be flying. Katy has shown in some of here clips/pics just how capable a bike a 141 actually is.. So he’s got one of those ordered up.
Ha ha. That's not his usual one actually, he normally has a gold Burgtec one has won for his 2nd place at Stile Cop.
LOL mate that's less than 50% of the world next year in terms of driving. We've also got the Pearce Cycles events and then Southern Enduro. Both won't be much less in the way of driving... but this is his big chance, so we're taking it with both hands.
Take midge spray! (I guess it depends which part of summer, but, when we camped there it was like the gathering of the clans for flying things
Yeah mostly... i'm hoping the August in Glencoe has a chance of being weather friendly... but May in Fort William, i'm just hoping not to drown.
