I've been Jedi'ed. He is VERY good.

On the bottle mounts, or I could lose it inside the down tube. Links to the apple where am I feature and the KNOG apps squeals at you if the bike is touched and the bike alarm in reasonably loud and irritating.

Re: What have you bought for bicycle today?
Depends what you want. IMO all decent coaches will do what's needed to suit your requirements.
Me and @Couchy did coaching last weekend and it was really useful
We're doing another in the new year

Re: What have you bought for bicycle today?
The answer to that is "depends" we did a 6 hour course which was £85 per person. But there are 3 hour courses that are less and there is 1:1 or 1:2 etcMr Moofo wrote: ↑Wed Nov 23, 2022 6:58 pmI will use my evening fruitfully to see what there is locally.

£85 seems like a bargain. I assume in a group not just you and Couchy?

£85 was a group of 6. But it works otherwise you'd be knackered in an hour.

Not today, but over the last week or so...
An £11 helmet... It's actually pretty nice - really light and fits well. Hopefully it won't just shatter in to a million little pieces at the first sign of a crash... Had to superglue the peak on as the plastic clips weren't quite up to the job...
https://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/HECAREND/ ... mtb-helmet
Some knee pads - After crashing at twisted oaks the other weekend I figured my knees would be happier to have some protection!

Oh and a bottom bracket, a square taper one. That probably doesn't warrant a picture...

Re: What have you bought for bicycle today?
The Whyte 603, I couldn't make up my mind whether to get a nice external bb with some newer cranks or just stick with what I've got. I spent too long looking on pinkbike classifieds and ebay for something decent to pop up 2nd hand, but in the end it was only a tenner on the bb rather than a bit more for more modern stuff. It'll get me through winter and that'll do for now

To misquote Agent Smith
“Do you see that Mr Weeksy, that’s another tool of inevitability……..”
Sorry, that’s the best I can do after last nights shift.

The only reason she knows is because i've told her.... otherwise, it's just another tool hanging up.
That said, she did learn about configuring a Shockwiz the other day.

Pair of these for the MTB https://www.outdoorgb.com/p/karrimor-me ... ing-shoes/
Got their first run out round Gisburn on Sunday, feet stayed toasty and dry with thin socks on.
Gripped to my flat pedals no problem at all, not quite as sticky as 5:10's but never slipped off and repositioning feet on the pedal was very easy.

Re: What have you bought for bicycle today?
Yeah depending on where and what i've ridden, they've worked fine for me. I've got basically the same, but i would only use on trails i know are a bit non-tech. Once you start getting rooty/rocky, i want the extra grip, even at the expense of warmth/dry.Ditchfinder wrote: ↑Tue Dec 06, 2022 12:37 pm Pair of these for the MTB https://www.outdoorgb.com/p/karrimor-me ... ing-shoes/

Re: What have you bought for bicycle today?
Gisburn isn't a boulder fest but there's lots of rocky studded sections and cobbles. I've got some 5:10's which I've ridden in on the same bike and on the same trails and I would be hard pushed to notice a difference except that if I want to shift my foot a bit the 5:10's require a lift and reposition rather than unweight and shift.
I'd have no problem wearing them on the hardtail down Garburn Pass in the Lakes.
I'm not slow but tend to be wheels on the ground in the main so if you're hucking and whipping with the cool kids YMMV

Re: What have you bought for bicycle today?
After crashing at Twisted Oaks at the weekend, I've had to do a bit of shopping...
A 2nd hand KS Rage i dropper post to replace the damaged one I have already (though I'm hoping the existing one is fixable)
A set of 2nd hand SRAM Guide R brakes. My rear brake, although functioning wasn't really working that well after the lever got bent so badly, so these should be a nice replacement.
Mtb was meant to cost less than running the motorbike...
