I've had more BMWs than anything else, but, like Horse, it's because they made the kind of bike I want to ride.

Nice, but they didn't need to mess with a Rockster for that, a normal R-R is practically the same bike. Up till about 2000 it would have been anything, but since then it has been 8 Suzuki's 9 Hondas, 3 BMWs 2 Kawasakis, 1MuZ, 1 Jawa and 2 Yamaha.

It’s the bike I go for rather than the name on the tank.
I tend to keep my bikes for years anyway so I’ve had one or two of the big 4 Japanese and I’m now onto a Triumph.
Brand loyalty has never been important to me be it bikes, cars or washing machines. I’ll choose the best one that suits me at the time.

Kawasaki for me.
KR1S-C3 (still seized with the piston ring retaining pin dropping out which had supposedly been fixed on this version).
Best experience was 2 coppers saying "we've been doing over 140 since Gatwick trying to catch you.....",

ZX7-R P1 (my favourite)
First Gen R6 (which was lovely but a bit ahem flappy)
ZX9-R E1 (quick but felt like it rained every time I rode it and made you want a wee after 20 mins of riding it)
KTM640 supermoto, great bike but very KTM for bits falling off and going wrong.
GSXR1000 K1, monster bike but never really gelled with it.
KTM950 SMR (2007), close second to the 7R but at 12-13 years old it had a full suspension rebuild looming and other large bills looming.
ZH2, so far so quick and feels right.

I buy whatever I fancy at the time and what best suits the use I have for it, however I am partial to a triple cylinder engine.

Mostly Hondas. They just work. I can appreciate other marques just that they inevitably always get compared back to the Hondas.

I've been a KTM fan for ages. I remember when the original 620 duke came out and thinking it was the coolest bike I'd ever seen!
My first MX bike was a KTM250 and while I did stray to Yamaha for one, then a DRZ supermoto, I went back to KTM for four stroke SM's, including a 620 duke and it was around this time that I had the bike I 'never should have sold' a 525 EXC in SM trim, full akro, revalved suspension and a slipper clutch.
I bought a 625 with 111 miles on it (the newest bike I'd ever had by a long way!) which I thrashed around for a few years.
Then after selling my house in 2008 I bought my first (and last) brand new bike which is my current 990 Superduke.
Looking to get rid of my Superduke now and I fancy a 300 EXC in supermoto trim next.
I'm not particularly loyal to KTM and if the right deal comes up on another brand I won't shy away from it.
