I thought you weren't supposed to put broken glass in a kerbside bin. Some councils wouldn't even empty it. Perhaps he's trying to tell you something. :D

You went outside and told the bloke who picks up boxes of rubbish on probably minimum wage that he's doing it wrong and you want him to improve ?

LOL...

I'm impressed he never laid you out !
I don't care what he's paid, he has a simple job to do and yet he can't manage to do it properly and safely. I'll have his head on a pike outside the council offices if he doesn't grasp the simple concept of emptying!

Yup the rule is the same here, but they break it when tipping boxes into each other, then turn the box upside down putting small shards everywhere.

Take them out individually and place them in the other box/container ?

Should have used that phrase that policemen respond well to.

"I pay your wages"

TBH I think I'm too polite, my neighbour went the FFS how many times route and it seems to have had more success than my way! :(

Had a similar gripe in our old house - collectors took exception that our house was a few steps too far along a footpath from their truck so would simply throw the boxes either emptying the remaining contents on the path or damaging the boxes. I then had to go to the local recycling stuff collection office and explain to the ex-gestapo hag behind the desk why I needed yet another new recycling box!

And they wondered why they didn't get a drink left out for them at Christmas????

People who just can’t keep their word.

We were supposed to be going to look at a horse tomorrow, after several phone calls and lots of videos sent we arranged for tomorrow afternoon, this morning we get a text message telling us they’ve sold the horse. Monday evening they told us that no one else will view the horse until we’ve been.
Fair enough they e obviously had an offer and accepted it, I can understand that when you’re dealing with a relatively expensive purchase in a small market place, but please Atleast stick to your word if you’ve made an arrangement.

We have a box for glass and a blue wheelie bin for recycling, both get emptied on the same day. The binmen usually put the box back in the wheelie bin which is quite sensible. Except last Friday they didn't, and it was blowing a gale all day and the box was missing when I got home from work. God knows where it is, half way to Denmark I shouldn't wonder. I emailed the council who replied within half an hour promising to deliver a replacement this week.

Your street is a bloody disgrace btw, no wonder your neighbour needs a big 4x4 :D

Its a private street, so we pay for the upkeep. Thats our homemade sleeping policeman you can see! :D Its a steep hill and if it was a smooth surface we'd have every fooker tearing up and down and leccy scooter races etc.

One box isn't big enough for the glass you generate, or you generate too much glass? Can you use a bigger box, or does it have to be the regulation one or they'll ignore it?

No you can put more than one box out. I sometimes put my neighbours out for her and I put it with mine. Glass collector wouldn't know one is hers. I have put extra bottles out in abucket before and they've emptied it, but normally if we have a lot I take them to the recycling bins at the local shops and just tip them straight in there.

We put broken glass out with non broken. The Scaffies just tip them in a large steel container what smashed a lot and they dont care about clear or coloured. Funny thing if i go to the top with glass i have to separate them. Probably get more money to the Ton

Two Factor Fucking Identification on credit cards ! :obscene-birdiedoublered:

I have just attempted to buy something for £10. I have tried FOUR times, and I haven't had a single text yet with my 6 digit code! Life is too fucking short, why can't they issue a special card to people like me who don't lose their cards, and if I had one stolen I would advise them PDQ.

It was a proper pain at the old house, no phone signal, I had to walk up the hill to get a text.

Access to my NS&I account needs a text for two factor authentication. I've got rid of my UK phone number and tried to change to my Spanish number on Friday. It took three phone calls before I got someone clever enough to do it.

Dunno if it's the same problem/solution but the missus was having the same problem and thought it was a rubbish mobile signal...but she switched the phone off one night then on the next morning and a whole string of texts arrived. It's like it had deregistered from the network.

It looks like your mobile service provider is the problem Jack. Not that I'm sticking up for the CC companies... :D

Yeah, but which load of fuckwits chose a very flaky service to run their TFFA on? Mobile companies always claim 99% coverage, and bugger the 1%. Well I live in an area that claims to be inside the 99%, but the reality is that 1% is more like 5%, and my service is shit. Their coverage maps don't show that of course.

Agh! :angry-cussingblack:
