Well, I've got the day off cos my vans in for a service and MOT and have taken the dog over to have another look at the proceedings.v8-powered wrote: Sun Nov 06, 2022 4:36 pmProbably use a rail mounted crane for that situation.demographic wrote: Sun Nov 06, 2022 3:05 pm
I reckon it will take a hell of a crane cos its a bit of distance from anywhere they can site it.
You can't see from the pic but the crane is a road one that gets assembled to full size on site.
The smaller crane thats phtting it together is about the size of the ones we use to lift roof trusses and timber frame kits about on site so the big cranes a fair size.

It's got a hell of a lot of weights on the back.
I'm guessing its too windy today to use the crane, its certainly too windy for putting roof trusses onto houses.

Yeah, but I know that mine is earlier, coz I stuck it on there about a hundred years back before Ben (?) got the snazzy kiss cut ones. Its stuck on this bad boy...
Sold it to bloke in work probably around 20 years back. A good few years later he bought another bike and the Thundercat has sat there ever since.
They keep asking him to move it and he just ignores them. Mind you, after being stood still for God knows how many years, I wouldn't want to move it either.

special letters copy and paste
Her hands tremble as Rose pulls back the curtain. This isn't the first time she has done this today. She's at 12 and counting and it's only 7.30 in the morning. She can't sleep see. Her Billy hasn't answered the last two letters she's sent to him. Her eyes automatically scan both sides of the street, wanting to see and yet hoping not to.
.
Who’s she waiting for? The telegram boy, that's who. Her mum says she's got to pull herself together. Rose knows she's right, she's got three young babies to look after and she knows for a fact her Billy would want her to be strong. The babies don't understand why mums crying all the time and she knows it's making everyone around her sad "but I can't help it" she says out loud to no one in particular. She stands up, makes her way to the kitchen to make yet another cup of tea, filling the kettle from the cold water tap.
.
With the kettle whistling on the stove, as Rose moves to turn off the gas, the letterbox rattles. Her heart is banging erratically in her chest, her breathing laboured. She moves towards the front door. "Who is it?" she says, her voice stuck in her throat, her mouth dry. "Mrs Bowler, I have a telegram for you" a voice answers.
.
Feeling faint, Rose takes the telegram from the young boy’s hands and with trembling legs, somehow manages to get back to the kitchen. She slumps onto a kitchen chair, heart thumping. Fingers stubbornly refuse to open the envelope, fumbling fingers and thumbs. Losing patience, Rose tears at the paper with two hands. The telegram shakes as her eyes focus.
.

The clutch plates don't look like theyve come off a bike and I reckon the disc carriers will chew the pads a bit.Skub wrote: Fri Nov 11, 2022 2:59 pm This is in Strathalbyn, South Australia, to commemorate

Re: utterly random picture thread.
Bought a battle of that at the weekend - it's bloody robust, reminded me of the 19 Crimes blends.
It's on offer in Tesco btw
