Recessed LED lights
How hard can it be!
I have some recessed LED ceiling spots. One has gone - so it will either be the power unit or the bulb (the bulb flickers - so my guess is the power unit).
How the F*** to I get the bulb out of the ceiling? - the unit is flush, not recessed. My money would be on the build being in a retainer that screws or presses into an outer case that holds it.
The inner ring has three raise ridges - so I was thinking to aid turning on a lefty loosey basis. But will it move ? Will it f***!
Does anyone on here (other than Docca) have any suggestions?

Re: Recessed LED lights
Sounds the same as ours - lefty loosey to get the lamp out. If you want to access the controller you need to drop the housing out - just needs a good yank and then wiggle the 2 clips out taking care not to bring half the plaster with it....

Re: Recessed LED lights
I have something similar, and have had the flickering problem too.
Mine have a flatish bezel around them, that either unscrews (early one) or is magnetic. Either way that has to come off, and then you have to squeeze your fingers in around it, find the 2 spring wings, squeeze the in, and then wriggle the whole fitting out, with the tail and conector attached. It is as big a PITA as it sounds.
Mine have a built in heat sink, so no separate bulb, you need a new fitting at £20+ a pop.
Busy today, but I can find you a link tomorrow with pictures that may help.

Re: Recessed LED lights
As above some are one self contained unit and the whole thing would need replacing if it is.

Re: Recessed LED lights
That is obviously a very different desigh, but I would start by trying to unsrew that bezel. I would expect it to come loose, and behind it something held in place by 2 spring-loaded wings.

Have you tried opening any of the others? They might be easier and then you know how it should work

Re: Recessed LED lights
Do you know where to get spares/replacements? Looking at a boxed one would be informative.

Re: Recessed LED lights
Well they look exactly the same as ours - lamp is housed in that unit but driver unit is separate and stuffed in the ceiling void, I had to replace one myself last week. Driver unit was about 6 quid from memory....
This was the driver unit I purchased - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... UTF8&psc=1

No boxes or information because they were fitted by a builder - who left nothing

Re: Recessed LED lights
Twist out the lamp holder (some are f-tight and may need a tap to loosen
Stick thumbs up in to the hole and pull down, may require a wiggle
Once is shifted down a little squeeze the locking tangs to ease out of the ceiling
Excuse all the shit, still decorating the room! I had to drop 18 of the poxy things!

Re: Recessed LED lights
Brillant - bulb out. Now need to pick up a new one and determine whether it is the build or the power unit
