Cheers for the comments gents, good info. I've also enquired about a zx 636 MY 15/16 looking very smart in 30th anniversary white fairing. More track go than the honda but the PX offer ain't quite there.

I'm in no rush but pretty sure my next TD will be without the MT. Once these thoughts get in my head, there's no going back. ๐Ÿ™‚

I know it's not faired and the styling is a bit bland, but the specs look brilliant for the money.
Yeah if you are looking to spend around ยฃ7k the new Hornet has got to be worth a look as you'll get a brand new one for the price of a 2nd hand 650.

A zx6r is going to be massively better than the Honda IMO, but also quite 'different'. Many of the fast lads on here have ridden our ZX6, all of them absolutely loved it. It's not quite a one-trick-pony, but obviously it's better on track than it is at Adventure Biking.. But as with all bikes, you can easily tour/trip on it.

Will there be a faired version of the new hornet. My brother had the old one and loved it.

I've also owned a 636. Great bike but for versatility, the Honda has it, in my humble opinion. The 636 handled great, sounded wonderful with the Leo Vance exhaust but I found it a bit much for commuting and filtering on the A1 and M25. I had the same experience with my Daytona 675. The CBR handles this and is plenty fast enough for me. Horses for courses and all that.

Here's another option for you- it's not the 1100, but still good, and this one sounds like it's been loved

I donโ€™t feel able to advise. I have two KTMs, have just bought an aprilia sight unseen and have owned three rx8s and all three blew up. I have a very cavalier attitude to this sort of thing.

That said, get it. HTH

If track use is important the zx6 is quite a bit better than the 650 and a lot better than the MT09 ๐Ÿ‘

When someone says I want a road bike that is good for track days I always think GSXR750 or 1000 or Fireblade

It was 7 years newer, it's like comparing a 1985 GSXR750 with a 92 Fireblade (I was going to say 92 GSXR750, but realised the 85 GSXR is better than the 92 one)

I bet the difference between the 2005 GSXR and the 2012 GSXR (or even the 2020) isn't as big.
