Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Ordering two plastic crates to store stuff in the man cave and finding that both were 10mm taller than the advertised size. This was more than just annoying, as I'd measured the apertures that the crates had to fit in and 10mm extra height was the difference between fitting and not fitting.
Normally this would qualify for 'things that BYP', but it was the customer service following this error that turned it into a plus. After measuring the errant crates, I fired off a slightly peeved email to the Sales department and was gratified to get a very prompt email promising to send out the correct ones and, by the way keep the wrong sized ones by way of an apology.
The next day the replacements turned up, and bugger me with a splintery gatepost if the replacements weren't similarly oversize. Another email was sent off, in a more placatory tone, and I got another prompt response from the Director saying he would personally ensure that the correct ones were sent out that day and, by the way keep the (second lot of) wrong sized ones by way of an apology.
Today the third consignment turned up and they were spot on. So not only have I now got an abundance of heavy duty stackable crates, I've also been on the end of some excellent customer service. Everyone makes mistakes from time to time, but it's how those mistakes are resolved that sorts out the good from the bad in customer service.

We often had a beer, poker, curry and porn film night with the lads.gremlin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 12:29 pmI remember watching one many years ago. It was bizarre and slightly nauseating to say the least. Much as a lot of it is lost in the passing of time, I recall and old fella being shat on by a rather large lady, but at the time I remember thinking, 'Why is he wearing a civil-war era Confederate army hat...?'Cousin Jack wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 12:02 pmI bow to your superior knowledge of 80's German scat porn videos. I think I may have missed them.
I think it was the same one that had a woman having her head shaved by two bollock-naked bloke who then, to use a Daily Mail expression, 'pleasured themselves' upon her freshly bald scalp.
All very odd.
We still giggle about one film. 2 BIG black guys doing a lass at same time.
Hey man, this arse is tree mendous

I used to work with a guy who was a bit strange but quiet.gremlin wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 1:27 pmI'd like to say it was serious scientific research. It wasn't, it was idle curiosity. The odd thing is, we kept watching as it almost became a case of 'How much more bizarre can it get? OH...that much more!! . And like a car crash, we just couldn't pull our eyes away.
That said, I never got a stiffy, so I reckon I'm the right side of deviancy.
Found out he used to host shitting and pissing parties where they'd bath and swim in it.
Felt weird working with him.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Another thing -
The sound of a group of sports/sporty bikes!!
I live to high to hear bikes in the valley, and haven't really met many groups of bikes hooning about
On the way to and from town today there were a few groups of noisy/sporty bikes going the other way and it was aces
I'm sitting in my friends kitchen whilst tea warms up in the oven, and have heard quite a few groups going by on the road the other side of the valley (from here, they are coming back down from the Col de l'Iseran - possibly back from Italy). If I get up when I hear them, I can see them go past (not close enough to see what they are though )
But, silly how that noise, that I used to be so used to, can make me grin like a loon. Makes me feel a bit more positive that I'll meet up with some silly buggers, and not just the Harley boys, next summer

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Recently I've got used to taking our dog for an early morning walk (my wife takes him later in the morning and I take him in the evening) and as he's past the puppy stage I'm throwing a (fairly soft rubbery) fisbee for him.
Anyway, I've not bothered with it for a while thinking it was too dark for playing catch with the dog.
Well, it seems not and last week I was up earlier than usual so was chucking it into the darkness at 05:20 AM and he just trashes off, catches up with it and I see a white shape jump up and hear the "KLOP" sound as his jaws close over it before it touches the ground. Then he trots back with it for another go.
I realise that to some extent it's silhouetted against the sky (more so when its cloudy) as he runs up from behind and underneath it but bloody hell his eyes are good. Its a good bit before dawn and this isn't under streetlights.

I was actually thinking that - wasn’t it a gate to the city rather than an actual a needle ?

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
My good friend of many years told me how he'd been on a video call with his inebriated daughter and her friends (in their 20's) and as she was about to hang up a couple of her friends shouted "DILF"
He's happily married (not to her mother) so was laughing about it and I just told him to take his compliments where he can find them

Pup got out for its first proper walk tonight. Not one piss and shat neither. Three guesses to what she did when we got home......
