My desktop computer has Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit, OS build 18362.1016
A couple of weeks ago it reset all the default apps to the MS recommended apps - MS Edge, Groove Music etc, none of which are my preferred apps. So I reset everything to the way I like it. Next startup it's back to MS recommended apps. It's starting to annoy the hell out of me that I have to reset the defaults every time, so how do I make it do what I want it to?
Installing any flavour of Linux is not an option, neither is buying a Mac

This any help? How to force Windows 10 to set apps as default
Blundering about trying not to make too much of a hash of things.

Now that is just plain weird - or typical of MS, depending on your point of view.Druid wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 1:09 pmIt still changes back to the MS defaults when I reboot it thoughLutin wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 12:56 pm This any help? How to force Windows 10 to set apps as default
Have you tried a utility like CCleaner? It might find lost items in the registry that need chucking out.
