You need to be more thoughtful about that.

Yeah I watched it too.
Sorting out (somewhat) the colouring, the film speed and dubbing in some sounds makes it somewhat mesmerising. It's funny how we've been conditioned that pre 1940s everyone walked about at 50+ speed, in silence and all blurry. ;)

Biggest take-home from this?
- There's no fatties
- Pedestrians have always been a nightmare

That's funny. I also thought how slender our ancestors were. Also just how smart and formal the clothes were. The ladies looked great; better than the orange skinned, trout pout, fake boobed lovelies of today.

I know! ;) Shirts, ties and hats, no ghastly uncovered flesh, fashion sportwear or mad hairdos. Or furriners.

What would they think of us I wonder?

My dad thought my/our generation were weird, so I suspect the folks in the film would think we've completely lost the plot......and they'd be right!!!

Nice to see that, even in the 1930s, buses travelled in packs.

It would be nice if hats made a proper comeback. Not just baker boy caps and fedoras for fashiony types but your average Joe in a trilby etc. I suppose you need the rest of the smart kit though, a trilby with cargo pants, fleece and trainers just wouldn't do. :D

Would wearing hiking boots instead of trainers makes that ensemble acceptable?

Asking for a friend.

Remarkably few two-wheelers, I think I only saw two or three push-bikes, and no motorbikes at all?

As long as they're hobnails. :D

(I have a pair of cargo pants. I tried putting something in the cargo pockets once - and only once).

You could probably show that to a lot of Yanks and tell 'em it was filmed this year, they'd believe you :D

And I'm disappointed that Harry Enfield wasn't doing any commentary.
