Oh. And also. Had confirmation at the weekend that I can bypass needing a Certificate of Conformity for the Monster through the French VOSA :banana-dance:

I don't have a price yet, but can't imagine it will be more than the to-ing and fro-ing between me, a Ducati dealer and Ducati Italy!!!

So, just need to find the engine number on it to make sure it's the same number as on the V5, then I can email DREAL (VOSA types) and ask them what their process is, cost etc and if I can do it in January (when I can afford to hire/borrow a van and take time off to go and see them :D

Two positives out of French bureaucracy in one day :o :o :o :o

Does the French system keep a track like the DVLA of how many owners a vehicle has had?
I've gotten no-where trying to reg my KTM as I don't have utility bills to send to DREAL.
Maybe you could get it registered then transfer the bike to me?

I don't know if they keep track, sorry. I could probably register it and transfer it. But will try and find out if they keep track of owners (@DefTrap might know?)

If you have a France Connect login, you could have a look on the ANTS site and see if they'll accept it? Or ask in 'Registering Vehicles in France' - they will probably know :)

They could accept an attestation from your employers that you live at the apartment? Not certain, but there's a good chance they would.

I've imported plenty of cars but not bothered with bikes.
Brexit has made it not cost effective and even more paperwork so l doubt I'll be importing any more. Registering vehicles is more onerous now it's all online, no humans to deal with f2f, now it's all just "computer says non" bollocks.
As to the the # of owners thing, no, never needed to find out, sorry!

My old "never going to sit on your lap" cat has been tricked. Put a shallow cardboard box on your lap and as far as he is concerned it has a built in petting station with tummy rubs, head scratches and chin tickles all on command. Also a chew toy if it does not move fast enough. This has been brought about by the introduction of the Balrog (aka puppy).

One of the other students in my French class told me today that our level is B2 :o :o

Wow!! I'm sitting here seriously smug and grinning :D :D I knew I was around B1, but didn't think the school would consider me as advanced as B2 :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

Woohooooo - my fight with DVLA has been won!!! :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

(I think it might have been my laptop, as I had success with the code using my phone!! :o  )

Now got to work out if it's worth getting it translated for a taxi licence or if I just wait till I get my french licence - the document is very wordy, so not sure paying for an official translation is worthwhile!

But hey - Success :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:

Aussie guy I used to work with insisted the best way to eat those is to bight both ends off, then use 'em to suck up tea like they're a straw. I cannot see how you could do that without it become just a big soggy mess, therefore I concluded he was taking the piss :D

Then I realised
I have a little grinder for crushing up my coffee beans. On the outside of the little metal container is the word 'XAM' near the top, which for a while I assumed was some foreign language markings, until I looked on the inside of the little metal container and saw that it actually said, 'MAX'.

Got my Campervan out with the intention of filling it up with diesel, but found it had over 3/4 of a tank. I forgot I filled it up in Rouen, France on the way back from Spain! Result!

My friend's CBF1000

I rode it to school. Then to my friends shop. Then to my house. Then to house sit house.

Back way later than planned but I've now ridden it in the dry, the rain (only a bit!) and in the dark :o :o :bblonde: :bblonde: :bblonde:
