Re: What have you done today thread?
I've been saving the link myself, that's why I had it to hand. I'd only just got my adult choppers when a face plant into a bench in the school playground playing football demolished them, I was around 9 or 10 at the time. I used to be a reasonably handy bicycle rider, several race pile ups have added to the damage, throw in some dodgy 1970's dental work and now at 59 it's time for a trip to a dental clinic that can fix things.gremlin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 4:56 pmI'm saving that link. I lost a tooth last year and was told by my expensive-enough-thank-you-very-much dentist that in implant was expensive, if they could do it. If not, they'd refer me to a specialist, who was really expensive. Think 'new bike' expensive.Pirahna wrote: ↑Wed Oct 12, 2022 4:05 pmTime for Turkey teeth.
Two people I know had work done in Hungary at this place

I now have a gap.
And no new bike either.

Ahhh fuck it, Fnarr
I have to post something to amuse me - I'm peeved, old and fed up with not being able to shift the weight that''s randomly appeared (despite the same diet and movement etc).
So glad someone didn't resist (Kinda sad it took an hour tho - this place is slipping!! )

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got out of the shower and Mrs. Gremlin exclaimed, 'What's wrong with your arse!'.
I mean, how should one respond to that sort of unexpected outburst?
She urged me to look in the mirror, which I did, and I have what looks like German measles spots all over my arse cheeks, exactly where my shreddies would be. No idea what it might be, doesn't itch or anything. Must be 'contact' related but no change in washing powder or owt.
Anyhow, a photo is available if anybody wants to volunteer a diagnosis.

It does sound like a contact dermatitis.
I'd take the lot and put them on a rinse and spin cycle. (+ change to non-bio if you're using a bio product).

Ride out to Hungary, bit of cheeky group discount at the dentist, then a piss up as we'll all be on a liquid diet for 24 hours, home in time for tea and shiny gnashers

Re: What have you done today thread?
Just about to leave home to go see my friends that asked me to cat sit when I got a phone call - cat badly injured (possibly off road vehicle or cows trampling it) and they were sat at the vets with it, not much hope
20 mins later, no more cat
So so gutted for them. My friend absolutely loves cats (I think his wife does too, but Viv is the one that finds and rescues them!) and he rescued this little soandso from a ditch at about 6 weeks old. Midnite (kitten!) had been abandoned, Viv heard his cries whilst out cycling and rescued him and a brother (the brother didn't survive) and took him home tucked inside his cycle top!! He'd decided that Midnite would be his last cat and would outlive him. So Viv is devastated - moreso because he rescued Midnite from certain death, so felt closer to him than previous moggies
I know many people feel that cats aren't deserving of sadness when they go, but for some of us, they are part of the family as much as other peoples' dogs are. I had only met Midnite the once, but he was proper cuddly. So, I'm pretty sad, but more sad for Viv and Ann
So, I'm now house sitting from Weds night. They've been kind enough to let me stay anyway and use the car still - I am driving them to the airport and collecting them when they come back! But I have use of a big kitchen table to do some of the sewing things I want to do - just have no kitten to snuggle with in the evenings

Re: What have you done today thread?
A neighbour knocked on my door, she was walking her dog and there was a dead cat up the lane beside my house, did I know who it belonged to? The cat had been hiding in the grass when a tractor with a hedge cutter came down the lane. Rather than scarper the cat had ducked, just not low enough. I did know who it belonged to and broke the bad news.
