Nothing demonstrates the excess of F1 quite like using a helicopter to film a man on a scooter

Re: F1 Race
So now we not only have Ferrari's that won't go, they won't stop either.
Those who possess real knowledge are rare.
Those who can set that knowledge into motion in the physical world are rarer still.
The few who possess real knowledge and can set it into motion of their own hands are the rarest of all.

Re: F1 Race
The penalties were unfair imho. Seeing how they don't get that much for being reckless and actually causing accidents. Was quite pleased to see a certain young man getting so far back up the pack, despite many hating on him.

Re: F1 Race
They're always gonna come down hard and firm on entering the pitlane when the red light is on. There's not much else they can do.
It was a slam dunk case, he definitely did it. All the other teams would have cries foul immediately. Even Lewis realised he had done it and said "oh shit!".

The red light wasn't on. Just yellow warning lights on outside of the track.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 7:40 pm They're always gonna come down hard and firm on entering the pitlane when the red light is on. There's not much else they can do.

Re: F1 Race
They're yellow crosses to show the lane is closed. Mercedes and Hamilton agree. Mercedes even spotted it themselves a fraction too late to make a difference.

Yellow crosses are hard to see at 150+ outside of racing vision.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:55 pm They're yellow crosses to show the lane is closed. Mercedes and Hamilton agree. Mercedes even spotted it themselves a fraction too late to make a difference.

There wasn't a red flag, but there should have been something more prominent.
Have you ever driven a vehicle at 150 on track in racing conditions.
Rules made by accountants don't work.
Re: F1 Race
When Hamilton came in to the pits, I thought it was quite dangerous that the pits were open with cars blasting past close to the marshals pushing the Haas away. Of course the pits weren't open.
I then thought there should have been red lights at the entrance to the pits, but then, on seeing the entrance to the pits that would probably have been bad as it would mean any driver seeing them would have to swerve back onto the track at the last minute.
It made fo a fun race though.

Meh, the people actually involved all agree with the ruling.Yorick wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 11:23 pmYellow crosses are hard to see at 150+ outside of racing vision.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:55 pm They're yellow crosses to show the lane is closed. Exactly. You'd be forgiven for thinking "the accountants" had already thought of that.
Totally agree it's hard to look at flashing lights at speed, which is part of the reason they have radios. The team cocked up though and were duly penalised. They've held their hands up...not that they were ever really gonna do anything else!

They agreed to abide by the rules. They also said the signals must be clearer.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 9:26 amMeh, the people actually involved all agree with the ruling.Yorick wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 11:23 pmYellow crosses are hard to see at 150+ outside of racing vision.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:55 pm They're yellow crosses to show the lane is closed. Re: F1 Race
So first practice done, a bit over 30s a lap quicker than Marc's lap record at the MotoGP

No kidding, at least the 8 (9?) DNF's enabled Ferrari to get into the top 10...

Re: F1 Race
I'd be very surprised if Ferrari are still in F1 as a works team in 5 years.....

Re: F1 Race
They've had way worse streaks than this in the past.
Before Schumacher it was 21 years since they'd won a title (1979 to 2000), even in 5 years time it'll still only be 18 this time
