The last time I looked I couldn't find a tyre fitter who would come out and change them on the drive, well actually I did find one, but he was £100 call out and £40 per tyre change on top of the price of the tyres.

Does he get many takers for those inflated prices?

It was the same with my mobile fitter, tried to reason with him on price but felt I was going round in circles.

180 quid onto the price of a set of tyres is taking the piss,in my world. I hate tyre fitting,but I'd gear myself up and do it to avoid that rip off.

You get it on MTBs a lot too. the OEMs are hard and plastic feeling, with the same name and pattern as the 'proper' ones.

They'd probably all be better if they shipped them without and the dealer asks what you want fitted. Save a lot of wasted resources and energy, reduce recycling issues and shipping substandard stuff around the world. All a bit of a waste.

ISWYDT! That wasn't recent either, but it was fitting them in the car park in central London. Thinking about it, I don't actually know anywhere to get tyres fitted in sarf Essex? Normally do my own...

I tried Pro Tyre in Dunmow. They wanted £40 a wheel on loose wheels They don't have a motorcycle fitter so won't fit to the bike. So I ended up using a local bikeshop.

I'm guessing it must be coming up for a service soon, so I may get them to quote for the service and to supply and fit a set of tyres then.

Mind you, I'll be back on my feet soon and I do have an abba stand in the loft of plenty, but there is deffo no tyres up there...

My mate's just had a set of tyres fitted to his Street Triple at Power Biking in High Wycombe, they are a Yamaha main dealer. They charged £78 fitted to the bike so only £18 more than Pro Tyre wanted to loose wheels. So as Weeksy said might not make much odds.

My local place in Colchester is £12.50 fitted and balanced to a loose wheel, not sure if that's good but I'm happy?

Orwell in Ipswich fitted my rear tyre to a loss wheel as part of the price of the tyre, and that was a good price as well.

All I can say is I've never regretted my decision to buy a Sealey TC965 tyre changer and tyre lever about 15 years ago. Every time I fit a new tyre I can feel the savings building up...

Here’s a good example of just that, in this example there’s a big difference in what’s fitted as OEM and what the aftermarket version is of the same tyre.

Got a man fitting new windows to the front bays today, so I have to move the bike out of the way. As my hand is forced I shall fit the new exhaust can! It's now pissing down!

We’ll I put the other silencer on but I can’t hear any difference. People say they are notably quieter, but not to me they're not lol!

A saving grace is I prefer the look of the longer can and I’ll get 2/3ds of the price back by selling the old one, so. No big deal I suppose.
