I live in a village, it's not famous for anything, nearest town is Ipswich, famous for it's football club, which is pretty tedious.

'What is Didcot famous for?
Didcot is an unassuming place, perhaps best known for its power and railway stations, but apparently it represents England more than any other. The Oxfordshire town has been crowned the most normal in the country by a group of number-crunching statisticians.'
It's sort of famous for being normal. (So a normal pic of Didcot.... )
(+ it has a fusion reactor IIRC).

If'n you can hang on until Christmas I'll get this;
For over 100 years Tenbury has been well known throughout the country for its winter auctions of holly and mistletoe (and other Christmas products).[8]

Castle Donnington (actually Donington Castle)
Horse racing
Watership Down (ok it's a few miles away, but if I walk around the corner I can see it)
Highclere Castle aka Downton
Speenhamland System, origins of the welfare state

I tried to get to the Concrete Cows for a challenge ages ago ("your bike with a statue of an animal") but they're too far from the road
I reckon my bike on a roundabout is too easy

I thought I was the only person who knew that was in MK...that's what I assumed, based on the reaction I get when I say MK has the country's biggest UniLe_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 4:31 pmWhat about the Open University?Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 4:18 pm I tried to get to the Concrete Cows for a challenge ages ago ("your bike with a statue of an animal") but they're too far from the road

What a bunch of negatives!! Doesn't have to be 'famous' famous - but the thing that is best known where you live (Mr Dazzle, the uni doesn't count, no one knows!! )
The local pub can be well known/famous to locals??? You guys make me laugh sometimes
Staying put for the weekend as it's forecast snow at some point - NOT doing that even if I had a rear brake

Didn't really have any choice cos I sure as shit wouldn't have chosen to ride down the hairpins in the rain (still haven't sorted the rear brake!)!!! But an appointment at 9:30 and another at 14:00, so, kinda had to!! One appointment and I could get a lift there and back, but needing to be down most of the day put the kybosh on that!!
