The Monster 600/620 is pretty tiny but that was one of the things I loved about it... it didn't feel like you were trying to manoeuvre a truck.

It's proper weird for me. I've only ever ridden huge bikes and the 390.

Oh, and one session on a GSXR600 at Oulton where I nearly flipped it cos I had only ridden Blackbirds up till then and literally 'threw' it into the first corner

Probably a good thing I'm on a go slow and relearning to ride or I'd be seriously hurling this dinky toy all over the place

I thought I'd timed it right this morning, getting to my favourite shop in Bourg St Maurice (Cornish Pasty shop in France :D :D ) early enough so all was dry and the forecast suggested that I'd be leaving before the rain!! LOL

Then it hurled it down whilst I was there :o :o

Luckily the rain had pretty much stopped as I left to come back home and the roads were drying. Then, I rode into a monsoon :o Well, I think a cloud caught me and overtook me   Luckily it stopped by the time I got to the road up my mountain, and the last 7 hairpins were quite dry and fun :D The right hand ones before then were a bit dodgy - big rainbows of diesel :o :o

Anyway, the bike didn't suffer from Ducati-itis, I didn't fall off it/cause it to slip over and got home safely in a smidge damp!! :bblonde: :bblonde:

It’s horrendous, struggling out of Clark’s round Hislops and even out the hairpin up the start finish, it’s like shagging your missus from behind, leaning down to her ear and whispering “your sisters a better ride than you”………..bucking bronco 👀

Even though I've vowed I'll never own another heavy bike, the big ZZR still turns my head that direction. Great bike. 8-)

I left a bit later than my usual, but the back roads were quiet and it was a bit warmer,so a nice few hours wasting fuel. 8-)

For a sunny Bank Holiday Sunday the roads were quiet this morning, not that I’m complaining.

Even when I stopped for a coffee at Koti Autotali in Chipping Campden it was not as busy as I expected.

Needs a heel and toe gear change too so it doesn't hurt his tootsie pegs when he changes gear wearing flip flops.

Yes, not sure what to do about it, or the fact my butt gets sweaty with the new pleather seat cover when wearing a thong.

I had hoped to get away for the BH weekend but life and stuff got in the way, so I had to make do with a day out today.

I went to Scotland, St Mary's Loch to be exact. On the way I called in at a motorcycle museum just off the road from Brampton to Longtown. It's run by a bloke called Mike Barry who is happy to chat about the bikes. Quite a range of bikes, lots of old Brit stuff but also Jap classic (and not so classic) and Italian. Free tea or coffee too :)

Image

Over the border and into Scotland, who knew there was a Tibetan Buddhist temple in Dumfries and Galloway?

Image

Just off the road from St Mary's Loch to Moffat is the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall. There's a path right up to the top of the falls but I didn't fancy climbing up there in bike boots. You can just make out people walking up the path on the right hand side.

Image

Just short of 300 miles, so a pretty good day's ride.
