The IOM may be the Diavel's Swansong ...
In have had it for 11 years now - and I am somewhat reticent to sell it - but I really don't ride it that much. It's coming with me to the IOM, to see if we fall in love again.
Oddly , I hate the low down engine characteristic - having to feather the clutch around roundabouts etc and the generally unhappy power deliver under 3k revs. Ducati assures me they are all like that - and I will get used to it.
But...
So what next ?
Already have a Triumph Scrambler and an old Speed Triple - so my wife's answer would be "nothing"

You've never really been in love with it from what i can tell.
Me, i'd go something 'different' like a Hypermotard, maybe a 1290 Superduke, a 1090/1190 Adventure, maybe even something like that Ducati desert whatever it was.

My advice is, wander round a load of dealerships until you see something you like then buy it, all that working out what's best for what you want to use it for is bollocks, impulse purchases are where it's at.

Fair comment - but before it started pissing down with rain here and it was let loose - it was rather nice!
Superduke would be on the list
Indian FTR would be - but I think it might be more of the same
Still keep on looking a 999s!

If you fancy a 999, try to get a test ride before you buy. The riding position isn't to everyone's tastes
I've recently got the urge to own a Gen 1 RSV or Tuono.

I'd go a Gen2 Tuono personally.

Had a Gen 2 Tuono . Great bikes - but it and the Diavel did kind of the same thing. And you have to have very short legs for it to be comfortable…
I think in reality a 999 is no go - I hated the riding position of my 998s, and I am now 62 not 40!

So something not like the other two bikes?
So a multi cylinder or a nice v-twin.
A bit left field, but what about a Harley XR1200X?

Aint she a beauty!

I’m going to tell you right up front the BMW S1000R M-Sport is one of the most brilliant bikes you can buy.
It’s demonically fast, offers you handling and ride-integrity you’ll never find the limits of, comes with goosebump-making carbon-fibre wheels, a chain made out of sorcery, stunning levels of finish, and looks like a mailed fist full of clenched intent.

A proper cruiser?
Either something from Harley or Indian, or a Rocket III

Depends what type of bike you're looking for,Cruiser, tourer, sports bike, enduro,?
Have a look around some dealers & see if anything catches your eye.

The XR Harleys make Buell QC look good ...
But along those lines - or even Cafe Racer style

Here's the problem - I'm 6ft 2 ish on a good day - and 105kg. I am not a racing snake.
On a Nine T ( which I think look great) I have the silhouette of a gorilla humping a football

That's excusable if you have a brown seat and grips.
