TBF, when I do eventually head over to the UK, I will be trying to organise a trip to sample some pastries!!!

I vaguely remember it being about £70ish per person. There's variations to be had, alcoholic drinks etc that will add to the cost. Yes that's a chunk of money for not many calories but how much does going to a West End show or a high end sports fixture cost these days? I've no idea as neither hold any interest for me. One could buy a pizza and listen to the radio for less.
There's also a dress code, men must wear a jacket and tie, as a generally scruffy peasant that's something I approve of.
I will be doing it again, and hopefully soon, as soon as I can justify a run down to London, maybe get a few shirts run up at the same time or get the hat serviced.

I took the missus there for afternoon tea for her birthday as part of a weekend away in London. Stayed in a nice hotel as London was still really quite due to coming out of lockdowns and went to the Ritz to see our resident pastry chef. I think was normally about 70 quid a head
I was all poshed up in a suit and tie and the wife loved the place as its something she has wanted to do for years. It was made more special as Lewis had dropped our name to the Maitre D so we had very personal attention and a nice glass of bubbly as well as the normal tea and sandwiches. His pastries at the end are superb and quite special.
Finished off superbly by him coming to say hello before we left and me getting funny looks from all the other diners by the chef joining us for a chat. We were taken downstairs before we left to see where the magic takes place and it was an excellent experience seeing what goes on in the kitchens and the attention to detail

2 new dishes to show you lot,
1st is a play on a Black Forest gateau (chocolate brownie, vanilla cream, cherries and loads of kirsch)
2nd is pear, prune and armagnac (the base is un-proved croissant dough, its proper crunchy and flakey)
