Re: Sports Tourers are back...
I had a look at those when I bought my GS.
I’m still internal debating whether I made the right choice.
A mate has had a couple and now has a new 1250 in the same colour scheme as yours. It blew over off its side stand in a not too strong gust of wind. I don’t know if they are particularly upright but maybe a thing to lookout for.

Sounds like he parked it far too upright on a slope then, they weigh 200kgs, not 20kgsScotsrich wrote: ↑Thu Aug 04, 2022 4:19 am I had a look at those when I bought my GS.

I saw one outside a bikeshop this morning, really likes the finish on it, same colour scheme but an older '15 model.

I like them...... Bit quicker than the GS and a bit more easy to move about for the shorter of leg than us lanky bastards
Enjoy the trip

IIRC Parking any bike with the front wheel pointed 'right' will make it stand more upright than if pointed 'left'.
Even bland can be a type of character

HNBD
We run the 1250RS on our school. We had a 1200RS for a couple of courses and whilst the 1250 engine is a bit smoother, both very very capable bikes.I absolutely love them, overall one of the best bikes I've ever ridden. All day comfy, and whilst not the most powerful engine, none of my advanced/ surveillance students have managed to get away from me with their 200bhp sportsbikes. Handles really well.
I'd happily spend my money on one. Little bit of green envy over here

Re: Sports Tourers are back...
I never understood why the surveillance lads all wanted S1000RR's and the like. Yes, they are fast and can cover ground quickly to find/relocate a mobile suspect but for the day in/day out work uncomfortable for all day slow speed in built up towns and city plus they scream "Look at me" on a shitty council estate where local scrotes dream of superbikesNordboy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 7:10 am HNBD
