If you can do that lot in 5 hours you're waisted in developing electric vehiclesMr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 9:25 pm £400 labour seems a lot, but then I don't run a garage for a living
Insurance companies do seem to load your policy for being the victim of bad luck. Presumably they believe in fate.

I had very similar work done recently and it wasn't a grand, maybe half that.
But then this is an insurance job innit.

What change a wheel bearing and a couple of sensors? Which could well be all one unit. Then a suspension arm and some screw in track rods?Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 11:16 amIf you can do that lot in 5 hours you're waisted in developing electric vehiclesMr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Wed Aug 10, 2022 9:25 pm £400 labour seems a lot, but then I don't run a garage for a living

You could do that in 30 mins at Le Mans
I suspect Dazzle's garage would have to charge a lot more than £80/hour

Her wee car was bust indicator and scratch. Other lass car was bust tyre, bashed wing, indicator, headlamp and bumper corner. This lot must have been around the 1k mark to fix and TBH it was hardly noticed on the next years policy and i dont do protected no claims but having said that i would still want a 2nd opinion/quote.
As we're all motorcyclists (or were ) you might want to google "Powell vs Moody" which, under possibly similar circumstances, the person pulling out from a side road and colliding with a motorcyclist on the main road may be considered blameless.

In Edinburgh a few years back i was on the bike. Mr Flasher flashed a woman out a side street just where a single carnage went into three for the lights. She took his word but i was passing and heading for the R/H lane to turn. Bike went in a direction i never pointed it to. I got a full claim from the woman right down to socks and a swatch watch. I would have been happy with fixing the bike but after admitting it to everyone around that it was her fault she was trying to change her mind when the police arrived to i claimed for everything. Mr Flasher was well off as soon as the lights change like what happened when i wife had a prang.

Just because a sign has a number, doesn't mean you have to go that speed. You could, if circumstances dictate, choose to stop.

I would argue 'should' or 'must'... see the Highway code.

No but they never had a hole in them when i left that morning so im having a pair of socks. The hole in the flesh was worth almost £200 under pain and suffering then add some socks it was soon mounting up.
